Mindhunt

Yes, vet check is everything when buying an animal for that kind of money, but on the other hand, a person selling an animal with known medical problems says a lot about that person's character and not in a good way.

As for working and making your own way without government handouts, most people I know that are unemployed or underemployed would love to do just that.  Unfortunately so many jobs have been shipped overseas because the companies didn't want to spend their profits on healthcare, pensions, and heaven forbid safe working environments, reasonable work hours, benefits, and decent living wage (PS you can thank unions for 40 hour work weeks, safe working environments, sick time, vacation time, health care, and other benefits, as well as job protection such as not being fired just because you got pregnant or happened to be eligible for a raise or are now over the age of 50).  I know of friends who worked for many many years as ER doctors and were replaced by H1B Visa doctors who were willing to work for no benefits, half the pay, and longer hours just to get into this country.  I remember having to wait for an interpreter to talk to one of the doctors about a patient I brought in, now come on.......

Mindhunt, good points. The middle class is largely a by-product of the unions that arose in
the 1920's and afterwards.  Like em or not, the middle class will vanish without good
unions. Unions arose in the midwest and my state because the railroad and
lumber barons did not pay their workers enough to keep their kids fed.  The work week was six
days a week and life was very, very tough. Pinkerton thugs and police were used to beat and
shoot union folks that striked, but finally too many joined and the authorities which were
merely representing the railroad and lumber barons had to back off and the strikes succeeded.

Yes, many unions were later corrupted as organized crime infiltrated them and used them as
cover. And there have been many abuses over the years.  However, taken in context it appears
obvious that without strong unions in industry and manufacturing, the middle class will vanish
and that is happening now as so many unions are busted.  I do not like the idea of unions for govt
workers as much as in the private sector for various reasons such as voting block power.  But
actually term limits for elected officials would be a better way to control that.

As far as the horse, who says it had pre-existing conditions? The one that is trying to sue Ann? The same one that obviously didn't pay the $500 vet fee for a vet check? It's BS.

As far as unions, one time they had a place. Now, they do more damage to the middle/working class in order to line their own pockets. I do not agree with unions and I believe they no longer have a place in our country.

With jobs being shipped oversees, blame the democrats. They have put so many laws and taxes on the business owners that the owners have no choice or they will go under.

Also, if anyone says blame Bush, the democrats had a super majority during the last half of his presidency and had voting power over any of his vetos.

Outsourcing has nothing to do with laws or taxes, it is simply cheaper labor and in some places slave labor.
Try working for one dollar a day.

Unions are corrupted same as everything else that has to do with the power of money and politics,  but without them we would be no better than slaves.

Blame greed, if you must blame something.

Blame is a wasted effort, another distraction keeping millions in the dark.

SSDD.
