Officer Keller, Thanks for trying...... Very well said.
Suhailf,
We recently got a two-year old male from Germany, we live in the United States. It was a couple months before he started thinking he belonged here. As far as he was concerned, we talked funny, we didn't say his name right, we didn't say the commands right, we weren't "his" people. After 4-months, he knows he belongs here and we are his people. And the trainers at our DVG club said sometimes expect one-year when you get an "older" dog. Don't rush, you will be his before you realize it.
Congratulations on your fine dog. May you have much enjoyable time with him.

1. Suhailf, love, more love, lots of physical affection, more physicial affection, and time.
2. Brittany, your posts continue to reflect that your IQ is lower than that of a plant. Many of us don't know who you are, but we do know you pretend to know something about dogs, and that you're a lightweight. Your personality and lack any fundamental intellectual capacity is not your fault, at least in all likelihood. But, perhaps you should try not to convey your non-thoughts so much. I used to have a gorgeous, loyal, sweet, protective, SCHIII V1 dog that I thought was dumber than the rest. I was right, but he could reason a lot clearer than YOU, and trust me, you ain't V1, that is, unless you look alot better than you think!!!

very well put D.H. I must say that you are very very knowledgeable and explain things in a way that anyone can clearly understand(too bad that there's one or two on here that don't want to understand).Congrat's on your dog Suhalif. If he is who I think he is, then your description of him was rather modest. He is indeed a top class GSD.And like someone said before, you should not worry, just give it time and sooner than you know it you will be the center of his world and he will show that "indifference" you spoke of to everyone else.
Officer Keller, you have no idea how bad I have wanted to do that.Only reason I haven't is because I am still very inexperienced and have not "paid my dues" to the GSD world yet.Thank you, maybe we will be safe from hurricane Brittany for a while, probably a little while.

I know that this is not possible for everyone, but each time I have been around a a German-raised dog I spoke to him only in German, and made conversation to myself as if I was speaking to someone else. I find this sets them a bit at ease, but of course eventually they must become comfortable with the master, and the master's language.
If it was a Czech-raised dog, well I would be completely lost as far as trying to set the dog more at ease. It is perhaps no more than a gimmick on my part, but it does seem to work the first few times that I am around the dog.

RedDoggie,
I thought Id letcha know that your negative posts about me has no effect. You can bash me all ya want but it will never get personal with me. I do not take a member who hides behind such silliness name such as yours personally. I also do not care if you use to own a V1 SchH3 dog
Im sure youve bought the dog the way he was. If you had personally achieved those titles then yeah
we can talk and talk about experience and who has the highest IQ
if you go around and buy already showed and titled dogs
Im not interested in hearing anything that you say.
