Blitzen, You can be sure I won't give up. As long as there is life and a will to live there is hope. My dear sweet mom had ovarian cancer, diagnosed in May 2004 and given three years to live. She passed away this past March, almost 4 years past what was predicted, so I know miracles happen and you can never give up hope until it is clearly time to pass to the other side. She was 94 years old with a mind as clear as anyone I know and she was my best friend. She taught me what it meant to fight, hope, pray and to keep the faith.

Miracles happen all the time, Starrchar. This time it just might be Shelby's turn.

Well, it has been 9 days since Shelby had her stem cell treatment and I can definitely see improvement in her strength, energy and endurance so far, but no improvement in her coordination. I am hoping that will come. In the meantime I can do more PT with her because she can tolerate it better, which will strengthen her muscle mass. The dog that had the treatment 5 days before Shelby continues to improve almost daily. He was much worse than Shelby and could barely take a step without falling and now, as of two days ago, he is trotting across the yard! Shelby will get her second treatment in three weeks. Thank you all for your support. I'll keep you posted.

Great, great news.  Keep up the good work and I'll keep my fingers crossed for her.  I so hope this helps her.  Do you know anyone doing stem cell treatment for HD?  Just curious as to how far away it is from being an option for HD??  Please keep us posted.  Thank you for the great news.  Nan

I am sorry, but I don't know of anyone who is having a dog with HD being treated with stem cell therapy. I do know of a woman who had her hip joint treated and had a remarkable result. Unfortunately I don't know the details other than hip replacement surgery had originally been recommended.

Starcharr
Great news that Shelby is showing a little improvement after only 9 days. Please update as often as possible, we are so all rooting for you both.
