Ruger
I am a chairperson of EOC committee in the Hospital System which has multiple dr. offices, 2 full hospitals one 320 beds, and one 48 beds (which openned in 2007 and will be slowly expanding to become 5 wing hospital with 550 beds...slow expansion over next 20 years basicly)and 1 surgery center (outpatient surgeries).
EOC means Environment of Care so any construction/expansion/addition has to be overseen.... hospital where i am located which has only 48 beds is currently adding MRI that can take a person who is over 500 pounds which means old room must come out new MRI goes in, room gets build around it....or like this summer 2nd floor will be turned into a Cath lab diagnostic...my job is to make sure everything that pertains to environment such as dust and filters, noise level, negative pressure is checked daily and construction guys know all state and federal safety requirements, they can't bring in equipment through the hospital w/o it being inspected for all safety features, but I also look at clinical things like crash carts and expiration dates on medication, lab tubes, medical supplies, every clinical area such as OR's and ER gets checked for fire extinguishers, clear exits, life safety regulations and requirements which are dictated by Joint Commission, DHEC, OSHA and CMS...that kind of stuff...I have my slow days and I have my 16 hour days depending on what is going on...fire drills, abduction drills, different codes drills....policies and procedures...etc....i love it...

How many top designers are men, Chaz? The cleavage exposure has increased in the past years, I do agree about that. Seems it is only appreciated in the nubile, though.

Nothing says full coverage like a lab coat, safety glasses, and black neoprene gloves up to the shoulder- reeked like potassium hydroxide/ethanol too. Still received the rude comments.

For me at work its a different story..at work i never wear low cuts, my shirts always have sleeves, I wear either jackets, suits and heels, or on "hands on days" i wear polo shirts with cargo pants and boots.
At work its all business, i have to be...otherwise no one will take you seriously, I don't hang out with co workers or share my personal life...its none of their business. back when i was younger and stupid i had co workers as friends but when you move up and they report to you it all back fires....so none of that for me..it may work for others but not for me...i keep mine separate all the way.
now, off time is a different story...

Laura..LOL...true..but even i always liked lab coats...makes people look too preppy, too clean, makes you want to mess them up and ruffle their hair..LOL.
