That may be the finest example of politely telling someone they're a complete f**cking moron.
Thank you for that.

I like my little czech bitch...Have trained with several people who have some nice czech dogs including Mike
Train what you like and do the best you can
A nice dog is a nice dog...the best way to know what one is ..is to train more and post less

habanaro,
You make a good point..."A nice dog is a nice dog...the best way to know what one is ..is to train more and post less".
But you can train until you are blue in the face and still not know what a good dog is until
you own one. From that you will judge all other dogs.
As soon as the sun comes out I will work my dogs..like I normally do every day.
The best German shepherd I know of was the one I owned 1964.
The best Malinois Othar, best Rottweiller Karl.....These dogs have been
gone for decades.
The one thing there is never a shortage of, is people who think they know
what a good dog is.
We as people who work and train dogs will always be the minority.
To show dog people and pet dog people. I am not saying this is
good or bad. But we must try to get along if we are to make any
progress.....The ones who get mad and use alot of bad words
I don't worry too much about...It's those quiet guys who seem
to stay on task...I hope good working dog people post here more
often...But I will not hold my breath.
Every one have a good day

you own one. From that you will judge all other dogs."
Now that is the truth!

I agree with you...but my point about training is the whole goal of training is to gain knowledge about dogs as well as train your dog. Simply put ..it is just as much about training the handler as well as other participants, not only the dog. The more you learn about drives and nerves the more you will be able to know what a good dog is when you see it.
If you want to learn about dogs...be around dogs... lots of them.. different lines, different breeds etc. that is the best way to gain knowledge IMO..
That is my only point of my hopefully humorous post
Hope your training goes as well as my tracks did today...2 dogs...2 Fh tracks.. both nice tracks

Your point was taken.....the biggest problem I had in the 80's was convincing
police departments in Northern and southern California that the dogs they got
out of the classifieds are not the best choice.....Until they saw my dog.
And even than alot of denial. Things have changed a great deal since
than.
I will give you an example that should not offend anyone because it happened
to me as a newbie in horses.
This guy who won 3rd place at a national takes me out back and shows me
his fence routine he does with calf for the nationals....
It was mediocre at best.
Than I see Tod Bergen do his fence routine...This was unbelievably good.
The difference is Todd was Bobby Avila's protege and had the backing of
A billionaire from Italy. He could also pick and choose from the best stock
available.... But anyone who has ever seen Todd Bergen working his horses
knows he in a zone all his own.
My point is, there are thousands of national competitors but you could count the
people like Todd on one hand and have fingers left over.
So first remove all the variables and lay the steps of training before your dog
perfectly....And spend a little more money if necessary, but start with a good dog because
time is money...unless you are rich.
My dogs both tracked today...mud all through my living room....
Later....

did not find in Der shH....And put up a graph that was beyond
the chat rooms pay scale....so I brought it over here...
I don't know this person but he does post here from time to
time....First of all ,you did nothing wrong....Second, I had to think
when I saw the graph you used....
Everyone keep in mind there is Der SchH and there is Der bull SchH.
The people who only use it as a reference are limited. Even Riesner
said don't do that.....So here is the graph that caused all the trouble.
The more I look at it the more I understand why the chat room guest,
put it up....
Genetic: determined by genes
Polygenic: determined by more than one gene
Multifactorial/Complex traits: determined by two or more genes AND the environment
.jpg)
don't freak out....in breeding this is exactly what you are looking at.
And I am an old guy, been around before most people and I love
to cut and paste....But look at the relationship between the single gene,
Genetic, polygentic and environmental....
You could say this is how you look at the dogs genetic profile...
I think it was darylhert who put this up and got slammed for it because it
was beyond the Administrators understanding but it is very good.
I did not get it the first time I looked, I had to go back to it.
