lol, lol, "bonkers" - your definition of bonkers is quite different from mine.

NO ONE said all working line dogs are any good.  YOU SAID your show line bitch has drives and focus equal to ANY working line dog, and we very politely asked you to back that statement up.  Surely you didn't think you could make such an outlandish  claim without anyone questioning the validity of it?  I will say this, if it's true, then your bitch is better than any other show line dog I have ever seen in my life.  Nothing wrong with show lines, if that's what people like, but they are what they are.

Debbie wrote:  I was sitting beside you, Molly, when you were watching Gucci, and I was the one who told you he was 9yrs old.

So Debbie, were you the person who was "sitting beside me" while Gucci was showing, who reported to his owner Lida that I had negative things to say about him?  Hmmmmmm?????  Interesting, since of course I did not - I was impressed with him especially after realizing his age, and I'm sure that if I had anything to say about him at all to a person I didn't know, I would certainly not have said anything negative.  Especially since I didn't see anything I could have faulted him for!

Nope, the only thing I told Lida was that you at first said, you weren't all that impressed and then when I told you he was 9 you changed your mind. : ) Nothing bad about that... lol
Who could have faulted him!  He was just a tad slower than when he was younger is all. Really great for an old dog, or even a  young dog for that matter!

Sueinc,
She didn't say she was equal.  Just that she'd put her up against any working line.  Just sayin.

My Gucci granddaughter has TONS of drive and absolutly incredible focus that I'll put up against ANY working line. Just ask those that have seen it and worked her. She has done exceptionally well in the show ring also and is finishing up her Sch titling. She is absolutly Gucci type in all areas.

Jransmom:   The phrase "stacks up to" means measures up, or equals.  So anyway you look at it, she thinks her show line bitch has drives and focus that stacks up to/measures up/equals ANY working line dog.  That's one hell of a claim.

Sue,

Who says that "high drive sport dogs" are only out of working lines besides you . I've seen quite a few working line crappers. Do you remember  that working line dog from Idaho from ( I believe) your dogs lines that refused to even look at the decoy (Dean Calderon) no matter what he did? He just stood there looking away in the distance hoping the pressure would go away...........and that was in a puppy circle!!!

Surely you would have to admit that Show lines can have high drives and focus. Courage and true conviction in protection may be the subject for another thread though.

ONCE MORE:

I never said all working line dogs are great.  That comment came from djc after I questioned her statement that her show line bitch was EQUAL in drive and focus to ANY working line dog.

Sure, show lines can have drive and focus, though I have yet to see one that I would call "high drive".  They simply haven't been bred for it, that's  a fact of life.

As to the puppy from Idaho, you are mistaken, he was no relation to my dog.

Just for the record.  A fricken chicken can have "high drives" As for the dog from Idaho. He was an adult dog in a puppy circle. He was from one of them "High Drive" breeding's, that much I do remember.

I thought my girl Hollywood showed very high drives at that seminar, maybe you were just new at the time.

Working line people tend to get very involved in the sport of schutzhund  where as Show line folks maybe not as much.

Mary D had a breeding that produced a very nice "HIGH DRIVE" bitch named "Ule" that Karen Sinclair has worked very effectively. I believe Ule was also on Canada's world team.

Good night,

Why can't people have differences in opinions and be respected for it...?  Why do  people think that their opinion is the only correct one?  Why should a person have to defend their opinion....No ONE opinion is right or wrong....Actually everyone thinks, and rightfully so, their opinion is correct....

WOW this went way off topic, but  not really, because it is a difference in one person's opinion that this entire thread is based on.....
