I have it in the back of my head that though I prefer to be gunless, I know who I'd go to should things get primitive.
Sitasmom, I would add cooking oil to your survival list, maybe even Crisco....Vitamin C., Powdered Milk. Bisquick....Toothpaste....and extra brushes ... and a stash of gasoline......I'll be thinking up more...

goooooo for it......the more the better!
I found a place that sells Powdered WHOLE milk.......
With Gasolne, the shelf life is very limited unles an extender is added.......
tooth brushes and disposable razors are inexpensive and don't take up a whole lot of room - perfect for storing for bartering.....tooth paste too.

I agree. The scenario in my mind is IF we were off grid and had no electricity! What would you do with a DVD? Sure, you could run a generator for a little bit but if there is no power then gas pumps don't work....I don't think.
We have lots of fishing gear at my house and the seeds as mentioned above is an excellent suggestion!

For a year now most have been ignoring this.....MM tried a week or so ago to NICELY Post a " read between the lines"........and I even tried to say......not talking about hurricanes or weather
The scare that gas is going up to maybe $5.00 is the first clue ...when no one can afford to got to work,,,stores lose profits, restaurants cannot keep cooking food no one buys.... the imminent ending is COLLAPSE>>>>>
I have a friend who has the inside knowledge and they have been yelling at me for 12 months..I do not have extra money to do stocking....I tied....but I do have my own well...HAND PUMP...and lots of butane bottles stored already......for grill use and lots of wood....ammunition and guns HIDDEN>>>>>You need guns with clips...if you have to ward off those who are gonna STEAL you need clips ready and loaded.
I have a pit already dug....BANG BANG BURIED ........VIVA LA JAHNHAUS>>>>
I need more but not enough money to go around...I just hope I can gear down and my kids are gone before it hits....not too sure I have that long...It is scarey alone to think of all this...but it must be done.
and the SOONER THE BETTER....TODAY i BOUGHT EXTRA COFFEE....AND MY SON HAS SAVED MEGA COFFEE LARGE FOLDGER CONTAINERS TO PUT THE SMALLER PACKAGES IN TO STORE...i AM BUYING PACKAGED COFFEE...NOT CANS...
MY MIND IS BOGGLED...YOU MUST THINK...THERE WILL BE NO GRIDS...NO ELECTRICITY...SO NO WAY TO OBTAIN GAS,,,,,,PETROL....ETC..UNLESS YOU HAVE IT STORED....ALREADY IN SMALL CONTAINERS AND ADDITIVES TO KEEP IT USEFUL...THE LIST IS SO LONG AND IT IS COSTLY TO DO
ALL THIS...
AGAIN THANKS POWERHAUS:
GLAD THINGS ARE WORKING FOR YOU...(btw: the food is horrible AT THE OLD CORNER STOMPING GROUNDS IN SANTA FE, TX..........LOL...
An old landmark gone and the new ownership is terrible....
YR
BUT DO WHAT YOU CAN....IT MAY NOT MATTER....AND LET ME REITERATE WHAT SOMEONE ALREADY POSTED....WHEN A MEMBER OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OR GOVERNMENT AGENCY STARTS PREPARING THEIR FAMILIES.....HEED THE NOTE AND TAKE THE HINT>>>
We all have a lot to do so lets all get ready....I am thankful to MARINE MOM who warned me a month ago.... a few chicken, a cow, a goat or two,,,few sheep....a bull and plenty of AMMO>>. Lots of DE ...to keep bugs and feeds from being demolished by bugs.....
MAtches, vitamins, meds , cleaners for dogs, corn starch for powder (body) baking soda for cleaning teeth, mouth , and making bread.,Corn Meal, soaps, .. If you put DE , food grade on the shelves where you store the flours, bins of boxes of corn meals, etc..the bugs will not invade.........
