Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

I see the posts are disapearing faster than the turkey and stuffing at dinner.

What's up with the posts and threads being deleted?  Has anyone noticed any rhyme or reason for this?  Any explanations given?  Does anyone understand what is going on?

Just curious,

Jim

Moderator comment: This thread is about what people are thankful for, not turning it into some political/religious thread as some were trying to do. Posts related to politics/religion were deleted. The posts stating what people are thankful for in their private lives remain.

What happened to Sitasmom's and BE's posts?

Happy Thanksgiving whatever that means to each person.

Very interesting.  I understand staying on topic, I must have missed some other posts by a second.  I guess they were political or somehow strayed off topic slightly.

How about the other topics lately that were related to dogs and breeding that are now gone?  SHould I start a new topic that deals with deleting posts?  I wouldn't want to hijack this thread.

I am thankful for what this site offers and moderate moderation.  Just to stay on topic.

I am thankful for too many things to list here.  Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, everywhere.

Actually I don't think anyone asked about the history of Thanksgiving?  I believe the question was posed about Thanksgiving today?  Today the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States is considered to be secular,  not exclusive to any one group or religion, unlike Christmas, Easter, Passover, Ramadan, etc..  In my eyes, this is a really good thing, it allows everyone to feel a part of, included,  and give thanks to whom they want,  for whatever they feel thankful for.

Yes what binds a nation together is a blessed thing and what binds us members over here is lovely, good day to all.

Moderator comment: The few posts that were deleted were deleted by me. I am not Sue or anyone else. They were deleted because they were not on topic, and many of the posts here are also not on topic and are about to be deleted. There are plenty of sites on the internet where you all can post away like crazy when you wish to talk about religion or politics. The fact is that this was a thread about what each of you are thankful for. If you wish to state that, fine. It will not be removed. If you wish to broaden it out to make the holiday something to spread your political and religious views, it will be deleted. Simple as that. As you all know, it is these political and religious threads which almost always end up in the toilet. That is what moderators are here to prevent and as far as I can tell, that is exactly what we have been doing.

For what it is worth, other countries have a day of thanksgiving as well.

Moderator comment: Next time you try to bait another member you will be blocked. The topic is not whether Sue is a moderator.

Second Moderator comment: Agreed. Baiting is over, including members or moderators.
