Pirates Lair, I agree with you 100%. If your dogs make you feel more safe and they suit you, it doesn't matter if you paid 25.00 or 25,000.00 for them They are yours and best of luck to you. After all remember the thread a while back about the price of import dogs. some readers thought it was way out of line to pay 7,000.oo dollars for a titled dog. Then after a good discussion took place it finally surfaced that purchasing a dog for 6500.00 was reasonable and in line with what the market value is. Then after training hours for dual purpose dog and certifying dog for service, you have about 20,000 in a dual purpose k9. Bottom line is she is happy. Everyone has their own preferences and ideas as what it takes to be a good dog. And what value they place on that type of dog. Some like a dog that has a strong bark and hold. Some because of liabilities only want a dog to alert you when there is intruders etc. So when they find them they are invaluable to that particular person. Last week 2 miles from my home a 18 year old illigal boy broke into a home where he raped and robbed a 85 year old lady that was confined to a wheel chair. That is the world we live in. I raise dogs that are not so good at bark and hold. But they are the best I know of at bite and keep on biting till I call you off. Not for everyone, but to me priceless. It's my home, my family, my fence, if you're not invited in you are a trespasser. We need to be more tolarant of peoples needs and their reasonings for the things they do. I don't understand why people do the things they do, but on the other hand I don't have to.

Well said Hank. We surely don't need to understand why people do and say what they do, but than we surely don't need to explain our actions or what we say either.

PIRATES Lair: I knew you didn't mean me!  But when I first joined this site, no one knew me either,,,,at least not the ones who rode it daily.

It takes time for some people to know if someone is just funning or a real owner...we tend her to scoff at gsd pet owners and they leave as they know nothing about of what we all talk about..I was green once.

I have a question for you    What does your log in name mean .?or of what significance does it have ?

I think she meant Maine Coon Cat. My mom rescued 3 of them when we lived in Memphis. These were registeted pedigreed cats. The owners daughter developed an allergy to them and couldn't keep them.   Really big cats.

Yellow Rose

Pirates Lair is short for the Kennel Logo, Canczech Dogs - K9 Pirates Lair. We refer to our expensive PPD/PSD's as Pirates.

Check our Bitch Jessi, ZVV1, now being trained as a PPD and just won 5 points toward her CKC Championship at Canada's largest Dog Show placing over the top winning show bitch in Canada.

The show judges are now starting to demand that a German Shepherd in the show ring should be capable of actually working. some show GSD's can barely walk properly.
