Raymond,
Maybe the advertising is down due to the internet? Pull out an old USA magazine and compare the number of ads and litters for sale. Before the internet the magazine had twice the pages. Maybe the poor economy, business don't advertise as much.
I think you will find USA doesn't inflate their membership numbers, unlike other organizations.
Also we do send members to Europe to represent our membership at meetings like all the other clubs worldwide.
Raymond I wish you well in dogsport and during your hardship.

Raymond maybe you lost club members because you spent too much time on the database instead of working dogs.
Again good luck to you in the future.

If membership is down, why hasn't UScA done anything to reduce overhead like other companies? (i.e. right sizing the office, eliminate travel expenses, etc.)

Right we can evict STeves doves and put two to a room!Oh bgstout if revenus are down due to the internet it is clear evidence of poor leadership! the internet is a wonderful place to advertise and space on the usca website is prime revenue generating property! We lost club members for one reason ! No one felt it was right for usca to dictate to us whom we could associate with! Our members refused to renew thier memberships for that reason alone! And now a 65% increase in dues less than one year later! LOL LOL LOL 1 Well judging from past preformance usca will raise dues again next year because twice as many people will leave it now! Heck I might as well shoot the dog and have a good meal of meat!

Membership revenue is down $17,000 in 2010 as compared to 2009.
That's more than 140 members.
USA still made 20k profit this year. The dues increase works out to over $120,000 increase in income/year. That is a 25% increase in revenue to the organization.

Ahh our dollar is worth about .04 (4 cents) people and about to go bust with this QE2. You know a dollar "bubble". Everything is gonna skyrocket here soon. Seriously.
Silver went up to $27.76 today and Gold went to $1410.20.
I think this has something to do with it.

I heard the vote was approxametly two to one in favor of the presented issues ! Eliminate one third of usca's revenue and I quarantee more will defect! the only way they will do what the membership desires is to cut off the money they get! A 65% increase in dues will only result in furthe increases as long as they get their way! They work for us not we for them! Less dues means less revenue from magazine ads and trials ! less revenue from clubs ! When you cut off the money the judges will start screaming bloody murder! Stop buying the dogs and stop competing in usca sanctioned events!

Raymond:
In all honesty. The loss of any membership is never a good thing but it really will be a small percentage. The largest group of members could really care less what the political side of the equation does as long as they have a club to train at and trials to go to. USA still puts on more trials them any other Organization in the states. And for a Organization that claims to be a GSD breed club we still have more trialing opportunities for other then GSD,s and even host a all breed National event (W.D.C. ).
There won,t be a mass exodus from UScA, in the long run it may even make us a stronger Organization. Every thing is more expensive any where you go UScA is no different then any one or group or orginization in existance, everyone is feeling the pinch and like every thing else in life the users(you and I) if we want it it,s gonna cost us.
Is UScA a perfect orginization? not on your life. But none are.

Bob??? We've had this discussion before, you can't compete at the WDC unless you are a UScA member. Any validity to these statements?? http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/forum/68686.html
Bob, have you ever voted in a political election? If so, why?
