just a suggestion about the times of the feedings. 5 and then at 8. IMO that is too close. i feed at 7 then around 1-2 then again around 7-8.
you haven't said how much food are you feeding her? if she is that active she could eat 6 cups. my female does

I can't feed her at 1-2..i drive 106 miles round trip to work and back  so for me to come back to feed her is out of the question.
I feed her 2+/- cups in the morning along with either half a can of dog food OR  3 eggs (sometimes 1 full egg and 2 egg whites) OR cottage cheese (about 1 cup) when it gets colder I  add 1 cup of hot oatmeal (I do that for all dogs).
Evening- 2+/- cups also with either can of dog food, OR slow cooked meat with about 1/2 cup with rice (meat and rice add up to about same amount as a can of dog food, it's pre-rationed in a zip lock bag).

she also gets raw turkey necks, wings, etc  2-3 times a week. and if we are grilling outside they also get what ever is being grilled or in a raw form...

she is not food obsessed, she will actually walk away from her bowl to chase a tennis ball if it rolls...she won't touch cat food that is left overnight...she does inhales her food while eating (i feed all dogs at the same time) so this weekend  I started separating her and feeding her inside the house..

Hi LadyFrost,
Be careful with the amount of eggs/ egg whites is given to your dogs.  Generally 2 eggs in a week should be sufficient along with his normal diet.

Some information re: egg whites
Biotin: Biotin is the last of the B complex vitamins that we will detail. Biotin is one of the most discussed of all vitamins, primarily because of its role in maintaining healthy skin and hair. It does much more than this, as it is necessary for growth, digestion, and muscle function. In some animals, it has been linked to litter size.

Biotin deficiencies have been reported following the ingestion of raw egg whites. Raw egg whites contain an enzyme called avidin that acts to destroy biotin. It is best if raw egg whites are not fed to dogs or cats. Cooking inactivates avidin. The yolk is very high in Biotin and if the whole egg is fed, the avidin in the white and the high biotin in the yolk cancel each other out. A patient suffering from a lack of biotin may have poor hair, skin lesions, dried eye discharge, diarrhea, decreased litter size, and in advanced cases, a paralysis of the limbs. Biotin is found in grains, but is not always of a usable quantity. Diets rich in corn or soybean are best, while those of wheat and barley are deficient. Beef liver supplies the richest source, with brewers yeast being next highest. Biotin supplements are also available. Biotin toxicity is rare to nonexistent.

poseidon thanks for info, but, just to clarify, I cook eggs for her in coconut oil (1/2 tea spoon, just enough so they won't stick) I tried raw eggs but she does not like it, so i have to either cook them or boil them..mostly it's easier to scramble. between egg/cottage cheese and dog food she gets maybe 6 eggs a week.

Someone suggested cooking plain pasta and adding to her food...has anyone tried that? any possible issues?
 Thank you.

just fyi, if you're feeding eggs, feed the whole egg.  You won't have any biotin problems if you feed the whole egg.

Ok, here is update with Photos...
the only side one I have is her walking away behind the wall...she is 54 pounds and is looking very nice! I didnt realize switching to puppy food and feeding extra cup would have made such a huge difference in such a short period of time...
She does turns down her morning meal sometimes....

beetree THANK YOU...

You are so right...It does...these are last nights photos....and I was saying..i wish i knew who dumped her just so I can rub it in and say look at her...just look at her!....
She is turning out to be amazing...(few issues but we all have those, nothing that I can't live with) her obedience inside the house is mind blowing, i don't have to speak just point finger and hold hand up; she will sit where i point, and wait till i point  where i want her to go enxt or lower my hand to lie down...she is great with retrieving and tracking (tracking is what i call her looking for pieces of food on a chicken stock line without deviating from it in the grass)....I recently send updated photos to 4 people I tried placing her with 1st week I had her...they are all amazed how well she looks..I have a video of her playing with a cat but have no idea how to post it here without posting it on youtube first...but in any case...she is definitely part of a family....i guess puppies are not so bad after all..LOL
