Some times wolves take the blame for coyote attacks.
Coyotes will leave sheep maimed and in shock
with their legs half chewed off.
Wolves are keen very good at killing and taking their prey
away. It's the coyotes that leave alot of half dead sheep.

well, we shoot coyotes, fox, weasels, possums, skunks, coons etc.  we have not been invaded by wolves as yet, but rest assured, they will fall if they come here.  no remorse.  anything that threatens our livestock will die sooner or later.  yes, even the neighbors damn cats.

Before there were humans, there were dinosaurs.  They died out 60 million years ago.  But prior to that, they lived on earth for 160 MILLION years.  Later came humans.  Modern humans have lived on earth for  between 40 to 70 thousand years or thereabouts, depending on from where you make the distinction.

However you count it, modern humans have lived on earth for a tiny fraction of time, a second on the clock, compared to dinosaurs.

Kinda helps put things in perspective re predatory species, human dominance, climate change and the LONG term picture.

Just live life and be happy.  We are not as important and influential as we like to believe.  Don't sweat the small stuff and keep the big picture in view.  That's my take.

Oh, just some old debate about whether or not wolves will aggressively act on humans.  There's a few select people that insist that when given a situation that puts in proximity with people, that wolves would always choose "flight" over "fight", and adamantly refuse to believe otherwise.  Wolves are opportunistic predators, and fear is not their only option.

wanderer,  you have a really fatalistic view of human existence.  so then predators have every right to kill off my livestock and i should just let them??!!??  bullshit!!!  i will protect what is mine down to my very last breath.
