She needs those eyes; otherwise, you'd want to KILL her! LOL

She is possibly the highest drive German Shepherd I have ever met. I have met a couple Mals and Dutchies that were on par w/her, but not GSDs. And she's DDR, to boot. Not exactly what most people think of when they think DDR. Her breeder tends to breed a bit different temperament than most breeders who concentrate on DDR lines.

Thanks so much, YR! I'm happy with her; I hit the jackpot, buying her as an adult.

Pharaoh

by Pharaoh on 30 September 2010 - 19:09

WOW!  She is so beautiful and zippy!

I love her painted toes, such a lady.  I also love her pedigree.  Now that you have got her in shape, time for a new picture of her on her pedigree page.

Jenni, you really did win the lottery.  Are you going to title her?

There are lots of high drive DDR's and some that are laid back and good looking.

I know this because Pharaoh is definitely NOT a beginner dog.  There are very few pet homes that would have worked for him.  He is a rocket and very dominant.  I just love him and I am glad he is mine.

Thanks, all.

Michele, I know I need a stacked picture of her. We could all die of old age before I learn to stack a dog properly. I'm lucky if I can get her to stand still. She is typically bouncing on her hind legs.  She knew literally NOTHING (except for down and stay) and she's consequently difficult to get to stand still. She's 100x better than she was, but she really is wild still. We're working on that!

Flattracker was over one day and witnessed her in all her glory. I think I got a slightly black eye, I bit through my bottom lip, and she played a key role in making me lose my big toenail. Typical day w/Pru.  She is fairly hard for a female, especially. Corrections just roll off her back...can be good, can be bad. Depends on the day. ;-)  That particular day, it was bad. LOL

She is not at all handler aggressive, but she is so full of herself that at first she saw me as nothing but an obstacle in the way of her fun.  She had to learn to respect me and she's pretty good now, but she is just so used to doing what she wants and she has this princess mentality (her half sis has this too; Capri isn't like that at all) that she should be able to do it, at all times. She used to snap at Caleb every time he came near me, until he got sick of it (around day 3) and put her to the ground and kept her there until she promised to be a lady. LOL  I think that was the first time anyone had ever put her in her place!

If I had the means right now (time, money, trainer) I would title her; she would be a cakewalk to get titled.

Congrats on the OFA excellent jen!

Your now one step closer to having little Pru's running around (is the world really ready for that..lol)
Yes, if i recall correctly we were there for about 3 hours and in that time you recieved a headbutt to the jaw, a nip on the finger going for the ball, and a bloody lip... Three injuries in three hours...not bad..lol! The world is definitley her playground thats for sure. But she was more behaved the second time i met her, so your doing something right!
BTW, I just got off the phone with jill. Everything is set up, we pick up my new boy next friday at 5:45 from O'hare, cant wait. I told her about meeting caleb and she said he sounds EXACTLY like his dad. ttys.

John, your memory is better than mine, you sneaky little lurker. LOL I had forgotten about the bitten finger. Eh, occupational hazard. No biggie. I was just worried that your fiancee was going to tell you it was her or the dog after she saw mine, LMAO. So glad we were able to distract her w/a baby. ;-)

I won't tell Caleb you didn't capitalize his name. I had suspected he was a mini-Dargo from my conversations w/Jill many years ago, but I haven't really talked to her since he's been "all grown up." ;-)

I will see you next weekend. That's an order, young man.

Watch your mouth...I lost my front top three teeth with a head butt from Bear Jerome....a Monteforthalle/wildsteigerland/Korbelbach male...7 yrs ago...

Now I have dentures....couldn't handle partials....Like being behind the plate and a catcher with no head gear!!

Lesson learned. I actually knew better before that happened. I was trying to make her platz and I'm short...she's kinda tall- you do the math, LOL. It was a good reminder that I need to brush up on my handling skills. My dogs are at a point where I take their behavior for granted. I forget how a high drive dog w/ZERO control and OB can act.

Caleb broke my nose once- gave me 2 black eyes. He dropped a toy running off the deck, I bent down to grab it and throw it to him right as he turned around to grab it and SMACK- that bison head went slamming right into mine. Happened the night before I went on a houseboat trip w/my bf. Boy oh boy did he get some dirty looks that weekend. LOL!!
