doppel: my attitude is open and clear, which is much more that I can say about many of the "people with differing views".
Far too many of "them" are weasels in their style and manner, working covertly and selfishly, they simply disgust me, and they need to be exposed for what they are. They may not like it, their supporters or 'groupies' may not like it, but their dislike pales into insignificance when it comes to my disgust with them.
I will not continue with this dialogue between you and I, simply because I know where it is heading, and I have very little regard for your opinion, knowledge or experience of our breed. You are, in my opinion, a petty pest.

That didn't take long did it? Just when I thought things were getting more sensible you have to resort to insults. Cancel any comments I made previously, you have once again shown your true colours.

Quote from Videx above "Our breed and several other breeds are asking the same question, who needs the Kennel Club when it comes to exhibiting our dogs?" PRECISELY !!!
The first WUSV Regional show was a HUGE SUCCESS , it brought in the biggest entry at a show since the British Sieger and I am guessing that if beaten it will only be by the entry gained at The Two Day (hosted by the GSDL this year) and then at this years British Sieger.
ONCE AGAIN THE GSD FRATERNITY LEAD THE WAY
Perhaps from all that is now happening in the Dog Show World the Kennel Club will finally have started to learn a valuable lesson which is, some of the German Shepherd fraternity have the same courage and determination as they demand from their dogs, threaten them and they stand firm, back them into a corner and they come out fighting, whip them and not all run away whimpering, some actually have the courage to bite back!!!
I am really proud of the heroic GSD Fraternity who cared enough about this breeds future to fight on. Proud and excited about the future. This truly is HISTORY IN THE MAKING folks!! AND Make no mistake, OTHER BREEDS are watching our progress with interest. I predict it wont be too long before some Clubs from other breeds decide to follow our lead and start to run their own shows under a non KC umbrella. Actually Open Show Clubs could start already, afterall they dont have CC's anyway so nothing to loose, except of course that once they did run such a show that Club never would get CC's but its my guess that just like us, they probably wouldnt be bothered.
The KC have boobed, they used their draconion bully boy tactics once too often with us and it has now backfired badly in their faces. Dave is right, we should always be willing to continue dialogue with the KC, but does that mean we should accept the Olive Branch and sign the Undertaking, NEVER !! We have a duty to continue trying to influence the Registration of our Breed in this Country, we have a duty to our breed and to the public who want to own a Healthy GSd of correct type and temperament from Health Checked parents. Saying we forfeit that right because we refused to sign an undertaking where the emphasis on Double Handling, Educating Judges and an attempt to restrict our human right to freedom of choice far outweighed anything within it relating to Health issues, is wrong in that it is undemocractic. Along with every other GSD Club we always tried to keep control of Double Handling, we only ever invited knowledgable judges to officiate at our club shows, never ones we felt needed Educating, indeed two of our committee were actually on the Breed Councils Judges Education Committee. We agreed there was an element of unsoundness in the breed but nothing worse than at certain other periods of the breeds developement, so nothing that with care couldnt be addressed & dealt with.
David Payne's excellent post above makes valid reference to the treatment our breed and its representatives have been treated by the Kennel Club, now was the time to fight back and fight back we did, but when there is nothing left worth fighting for it is sometimes far more rewarding to just walk away and this is precisely what seven clubs did. When it became obvious the KC were offering our breed absolutely nothing we considered worth fighting for, it was easy to walk away.

At this point, can I ask a question I asked earlier, which no-one has replied to:
Can I ask what governing body is going recognise the future planned title of 'GSDL/WUSV British Champion' Have either the FCI or the WUSV given their agreement to recognition? Presumably it must have some official body to recognise it for it to carry any meaning or weight in the scheme of things?
Also, can someone tell me what are the differences between the UK Breed Survey and the SV Breed Survey?
Thanks

Dingodog, doppels very own 'doppelganger' - the clue is in the 'title'
second question: YOU can download & print two documents from the GSD Breed Council website related to the GSD BREED SURVEY - http://www.gsdbreedcouncil.co.uk/downloads.php
and YOU can download & print the latest (2009) ENGLISH version of the SV Korung on my VIDEX GSD website.
http://www.videxgsd.com/Korung_Rules_English.htm
Then YOU can study, learn and try YOUR very best to understand the differences.
The GSD/WUSV Events recognise both - and will continue to do so, and also maybe create their own "GSD Breed Survey" sometime soon.
The GSDL/WUSV Events are and will continue to be "fully inclusive" - facilitating those who wish to follow the SV system and those that do not. CHOICE - with entry requirements based on identification and minimum health screening standards, within our GSD breed Survey and/or the SV Korung, that is the key to our GSDL/WUSV Events.
