That's awesome Red Sable!!! Your brother is a good person for rescuing bears. They are awesome creatures. Just watched a show about them tonight. No animal should be abused....there is just no reason for it!!!

My God!!!

I fail to understand how a person could just let a dog starve to death like this.  I agree that a bullet to the head would have been kinder...As his body ate the muscle mass to stay alive, he must have suffered incredibly.  It will not take long to build him back up, but I worry about what damage might have been done to his body from the starvation...Like the bear above, perhaps?

Poor boy, poor Courage.  If they couldn't afford food, there's always begging...Pleading...stealing, even.

I hope they find this person and punish them, but fines and jail time are drops in the bucket. They'll be confined in a cage and fed three times a day, and have a roof over their heads...More than they gave this dog.

This harsh reality happens much more than we know.Until the fkn law decides to REALLY STEP IN ,nothing will change cause these types of bastards that do this to these beautifull animals know they will get away  with minor BS if caught.I say make an example of one of these ball-less bastards. How much of a man must you be to do that to a beautifull creature like these? And yet these great dogs forgive and accept us after what has been done to them. There is absolutely NO reason to do this to a dog.I could kill this bastard and not have a regret in the world after seeing that poor dog Courage.Another real live threat to these poor GSD's is these people who get one to show OR work and then it does.nt meet there expectations and they suddenly just want to DUMP the poor dog.How right is that? And yes I have witnessed this kind of nonsense at one of the clubs I was doing sch and with the many show people and save your BS cause I personally own 2 which are showlines and one IS REAL show quality and one is not. This horrible abuse is just one area of all this dysfunction that goes on in our wonderfull world of today.I wish there was something I could do to stop this once and for all.I would love to see one of these bastard abusers get crucified,I mean real serious crucified. Then and only then will we see this slow down.Anyway,I guess I have vented my anger.

This shows just one more time that the biggest & most cruel preditor is mankind itself.
How terribly sad, and yet, how lucky for Courage to have found so many nice peopel to help him.
From the bottom of my heart a sincere "Thank You" to all that are helping Courage, hopefully he will recover entirely.

We know he feels the love and warmth of so many people pulling for him. Courage did a media 'interview' today and even had a few words for the camera! Check him out at www.ktla.com under INFO! The reward story hit our local paper so we hope that our phone starts ringing with tips!
