Words of advice ... Don't take it toooo far...... LOL     The last 3messages got me smiling... I give you all cudos for your diligence and hard work... I will be changing my girls over to raw as soon as I go through the remaining bags of dry food I have already purchased.   I laugh in a way because I am pretty much a perfectionist , I don't do anything 1/2 ass and I can see myself doing the same thing for my pet. I hope I don't get to crazy because I really don't want to be running around with food in my pockets or trying to figure out how to prepare a 75lb tripe.lol   I hope I will find a happy medium or my 3 daughters & my wife are going to get grossed out and never let my dogs lick them again...LOL

The treats are a smashing success!!  The first ones I made were pretty funny, just plain.  I used 4 cups chicken broth and one package Knox unflavored gelatin.  Use package direction but broth instead of juice.  One cup cold broth, pour package (4 envelope gelatin in and let sit one minute.  Add 3 cups boiling broth and stir until gelatin is disolved.  Pour into 9x13 and chill.  Well, when I gave him one, he rolled it around, he's not used to that texture.  The look on his face was priceless.  He like the taste but wasn't sure about the texture.  He rolled it around for about 3 minutes and then finally ate it.  The second batch was a little better, I added raw, diced chicken liver and he ate it right up!  No slime, easy to handle and he likes them.  Cheap too.  The Knox gelatin was $1.89, liver is $1.09/lb. and I used about 1/4 lb so approximately 27 cents.  I used chicken stock from chicken I used for salad so basically it was free.  I got almost 200 small cubes from one pan so my final cost:

1.89
0.27
2.16 ------for 200 treats that are not messy and he likes them!

edited for bad math LOL
