I have seen GSD females listed on some breeders' websites for $12,000 and more, up to $17,500...I shook my head...
Declining economies around the world are going to affect breeders...But the economists are saying that we are now climbing out of the recession, though anyone with half a brain can see that we are, in reality, still sinking deeper into the mire of economic mayhem. I just hope that there are enough people with money to keep the best GSD from becoming extinct...
As for the above post regarding the dog, from the information I saw presented, almost sounds more like the dog is from American lines, as I thought all German dogs were supposed to be breed surveyed before being bred, which requires titles? Aside from that, if there are no titles on the dam's side, then it sounds to me like just the product of a BYB. I can buy a pup from German imported lines from various kennels within a day's drive of my home for $1,000 to $1,500, from parents who are titled, hips and elbows scored, all that. For a dog from pet lines...I wouldn't pay more than five hundred, sorry. You say no titles, nothing like that, do you mean no Schutzhund titles, no working titles of any kind, just Show Champion stock, or are they literally pets that have never been shown, worked, or anything of the sort? It's hard to gauge what you're asking because of the lack of information provided in your post.

she is worth puppy price, for puppy from untitled parents - $600 or so. Don't add anything for titles, training, OFA or etc, because she doesn't have any of these. So end price IMO - $600.

Hard to say w/out meeting the dog...
BUT- whoever says you can buy a DECENT Sch.1 KKL1 young bitch for $3000.... I kinda doubt it. And if you find one, I'd be highly suspect!

I'm not sure that anyone here said you can buy a top placing KKL1 bitch for $3000. I think what was said was that there's no way an untitled bitch, out of an untitled dam, w/no titles on the dam's side could possibly be worth $3K because you can find a titled one for close to the same price (I haven't seen them for $3K yet, but I have seen $4K) or you can get an untitled but pink-papered female for less than $3000. That's not to say that either is going to be a top female who you'd use as a good foundation female, just that it's likely far better than the one the OP was asking about.
