I have one almost identical to yours!.  Mine is a "shepinois"  Daddy was a malinois, mom was a white shepherd.  Unfortunately, there were 10 in the very uniform litter.  I got mine as "payment" for doing some training on the male, and subsequently rescued and placed about half of the litter.  Guy thought he could make lots of money off the litter ??? then couldn't sell, place, or feed them.  All of the dogs I placed from the litter had remarkable temperaments, amazingly.  Our boy is a joy, with solid drives for a silly cross.  I am sure yours is a delight as well.  Thanks for taking her, she's a cutie!

Thanks for sharing here with us..No matter where she came from she is well taken care of and you can see that in those piercing eyes..

She is young still and will fill out much more in the next year..By three they  become more of the mature adult...so you still have time for her to fill out and color changes with the seasons.

What beautiful and intelligent looking dog!  I have a mystery dog too, but I gave up on trying to figure out what she is.   Just a super mutant.  Here is a picture of her.   She supposedly came from 2 GSD parents and the guy who had the litter gave her away because of her color and "got rid" of her mother.  She is an AWSOME dog.  Hope your special one brings you all the joy mine has!  Cheers.

Skipshift:

I love the coloring of your dog's face.  I  prefer the paler colors to the dark faces - and those ears!  She's just lovely, I think.

I am told a "Panda Shepherd" is kinda a brand name.  That the "Panda shepherd" mutation was link to only one dog and that dog's litters have been bred to make more.  My dog is just shy of 12 and came before the first "Panda Shepherd" was born  (2004 i think).   I also have been told that there is a "Irish Spotted Mutation (?)"   I do not know.   I would have to think given the GSD family tree that this color mutation has to have occured before and will occur again outside of the "Panda shepherd"  group.  If I have read correctly, many dogs went into the mix over time to make GSDs what they are today.

What makes me sad is that when Abbie was born the guy who bred her parents "got rid,"  so to speak, of her mother and was gonna destroy abbie till he gave her to me.  She was actually too young to be away from her mother and had to be hand reared, milk fed, and carried around with me.  I was a raft guide at the time so it was no small feat!  The plus side was we are very bonded and travelled all over together.   It makes me sad to think others of her kind have been destroyed.   I can not express what an AMAZING dog she has been.  Her temperment is unsurpassed and she is soooo smart.   Not to mention she has an amazing sense of character.   If my dog does not like you neither do I...HAHAHA.

I know there are strong feelings on here about "standards,"  and I understand the desire to keep the wonderfull GSD traditions alive.  I just hope there is enough wiggle room to accept these dogs enough not to destroy them, maybe learn more about this color mutation, and allow them to be awsome "pets."   They are such incredible, loveing, and loyal additions to a family.

She's a gsd.

looks to be out of white lines.  they are a sable,  but the genetics for the color is more like the mal.  they have a dark mask and lighter coat.
K9 Pines has a genetics page about this type of sable.  Ay fawn is what they call it I think

I see  pure GSD with faded color.  I don't know what all the speculation about white parents is about, nor do I see an American lined dog, but she's cute in any case :)  I also see she likes to lie upside down xD  My boy does the same thing.

Luvdemdogs...Whose dog is the one you pictured?  Just wondering.  Not fond of the white in there, but all in all, I like the look of the dog, aside from the coloring.

SkipShift, look at the pics I posted on my thread, the latest one about Oakley, my blind rescue.  In one, she's in a square stance, and after I posted that pic, I thought to myself that in that pic, she looked a lot more like a Malinois than a Shepherd...Straight back without any slope.  Of course, when she's moving, and most of the rest of the time, she has the slightest bit of a slope, with just a hint of rounding, but it is not evident in the pic I posted on that thread.

Your girl looks very sweet, she's obviously loved a great deal.  Don't be worried about her appearance, it's not nearly as important as the love you have for her.  Enjoy her...She's a beauty!
