I did resize them in photoshop, they were huge before, as I wanted lots of detail at the time and I intentialy left them pretty big as well as I wanted the details and markings of the bird to show. Like Is aid before, I DO NOT KNOW, nor didI attempt to investigate as what it is, I labeledit a "hawk" in my mind and left it at that. You can guess the size of it by looking at the squirrel carcass it is eating then guesstimate from there. I wouldn't say it's"huge", fromwhat I can remember, that was 3 or 4 years ago.
Pictures were taken by me, 7 or 8 feet from the bird, in my own backyard, 10 feet from the house in Houston, Texas of October or November of 2006. That's all I remember from that encounter and that the bird was not afraid of me at all, but cautiously alerted when I moved in a bit too much. The second "dessert" stupid squirrel scrammed more in fear of me than the bird and it got to live another day.

Well,
My best guess is the Coopers, 15" to 18" inches long, 30" to 36" inch wing spread.
And this does look like an immature bird.
The last picture is excellent.
