Research it ...Mahon and I and many other breeders use these methods..it is like giving angel wings to a new born pup..Pups must be handled from day one by the breeder...
Handling the pup in the proper way in no way brings any stress to a pup or the mom...it is done to promote a pups growth with proper dealing of nerves and growing into the sound, touch and smell world of humans ..

I agree with yellowrose on this one. Puppies' eyes don't open until the second week; their ears don't open FULLY until 21 days. When you handle them daily, the gentleness of human touch and handling and smell is so totally familiar to them before they can even see and hear. It in no way takes away from "mom time" and learning how to be a dog.
The only thing I'd clarify is that developmentally speaking, this handling YR means is technically "stress." But good stress. Yes, there is positive stress that aids in development, which is what YR is talking about. I'm just saying that TECHNICALLY you are providing good "stress" to the puppies to help them develop and not negative stress.

I believe the first weeks of a puppies life belong to the puppy, its litter mates, and mom.
There are things that must be learned here first, its important in my opinion.
I have no problem with handling or adding stimulation to the environment as long as its done (in a proper way), and at the proper time.
Time is the key component here and timing is everything.
Positive and negative stress just doesn't compute....error.
This stress procedure is probably very useful, I just wouldn't be in such a rush.
I just don't think its necessary from day one.
And I believe that some people will not do it (in a proper way) and it will be the pups loss.
To each his own I would say, I don't interfere with the birthing process, others act as midwives.
I don't think anyone can prove their method superior over another's.

Two Moons This is a proceedure developed by Veteriniary PHD physcologist in breeding top Hospitals and it is not anything to do with handling the pups..
Obviously you are not familiar at all with these proceedures as are not most on this board....so it is effortless for me to explain the real proper way of doing these...it has been proved that this is what a german shepherd ..the one dog who can inherit many problems in its genetic makeup related to bad stress.and nerves...and if left unchecked produces a pup not worth shooting...I have listened to so many people spend hours trying to socialize a stressed pup that won't fit in....this is why they developed this way of introducing a pup into the handling and soothing massage involved and where the pressure points are and how to do it..... Indians did it man just turns a deaf ear to the talk of the spirit and the realm of getting into the mind and body from first hours of breath on this earth.. Human babies are now given music in womb soothing music to ease the mind...many new proceedures in human womb to solve a lot of nerve and stress problems created in birthing and whelping.....and it is a proceedure many do not know about....I do not have time tonight to lay it out...the proper site I will post tomorrow or Monday.
It is not just handling the pups....I am a breeder of many many years...these things I wish I had done with my cocker spaniels another dog that is like an arrow of nerves for show...Mine were out of two top showlines in this country and one later of another line that I wish i had known how to do these proceedures....
The procedure is not just handling...will describe it OR maybe Mahon will releive me and he will put up the link and tell you how and why....

so if you have a happy mother the pups will be happy. people talk alot of bloodlines and so on in particular about the males, IMO the focus on the mother is more important as she brings the puppies up.
here a couple of videos of my last litter( actually my first one

the first video shows the puppies at 5weks, the second at 7 weeks.

I see it are much more stressful on the pup, simply stated FEAR which I want to avoid completely at this time period.Hopefully, I have produced a pup by 8 weeks that is confortable and confident with different smells, sounds and sights.Willing to climb, jump, and rumage around in a ruble pile consisting of anything he encounters. This pup is imprinted to the best of my ability. My job as the breeder as for as this part is concerned is done.I know these pups as well as I can.I can tell you which pup should excel at which venue, based on facts. It's all up to the trainer-handler now.

4 Handle, hold in various positions, stimulate touch and smell,
put each puppy singly into a shallow metal pie tin and time
how long it takes puppy to crawl out of tin onto wool pup

minutes three times a day sitting in pen and playing with
puppies, begin introducing well-behaved children into pen
for short periods of play.
15 Trim nails and begin individual work with each puppy for 5
to 15 minutes each day
16-19 Continue above, introducing more and more variety of toys,
cats, people, noises
20 Begin auditory stimulation and put legs under teeter-totter to
raise it about 8 inches from floor; leave a radio playing in
puppy room for most of the day from now onward.
