Hans Prager, about two months ago I started feeding my two GSDs' the same diet that you described except that the emphasis is on deboned chicken quarters and ground beef. I cook it lightly like you do and mix it with rice and steamed carrots which are then mashed. They are doing really well on this meal formulation. The proportions are about 35% (in weight) cooked meat, 35% rice (pre-cooking) and 30% carrots.

Basically what I feed them is what any human could eat. I am glad I made the change. I know what I am feeding my dogs which is more than I can say with kibble.

I read and hear quite frequently about dogs getting cancer and I cannot help wonder if the kibble is a contributory factor. There are all sorts of regulatory safeguards when it comes to safety with regard to human food - I don't know what safeguards there are, if any,  when it comes to pet food.

Is that  two thousand two hundred Steve?  Here for a young man in Ontario, Canada, it is $300/month,(with drivers ED) plus $84(somewhere around there)/yr for the sticker. Which works out to approx. $3700 a year.

For me, for a small car, it is $600 for insurance and the same for a sticker.  Both examples are with used cars,- new, or more expensive cars are much more.

Dog food, good quality is $60 plus dollars a bag for 18kgs which lasts about 3wks.

Everything seems to go up except my paycheck.  Actually, it went down!

In States, Connecticut to be exact, my car insurance is 2200 per year, my tax is 800 (since it's new). Our tax is property tax not road, road tax is added to the cost of gas. Hope this helps steve.

My dogs get 4 cups of Vetschoice Holistic formula (Original), 2 TBS of Olewo Carrots, 1 shot of Salmon Oil. I don't bother with raw comparing to Vetschoice Holistic, Orijen, and RAW I didn't observe any difference expect my wallet.

Truck insurance:
I pay for big 1/2 ton 2001year Ford truck in AZ $450 +-every  year. License plate $20. Truck is dual fuel thus the cheep license plate. Insurance depends on state, drivers age and driving record. Usualy it is more then this.
