I grew up in Los angeles but spent most summers with my grandparents in Flint and Boston. God forbid I I talk about the things I saw during the summer; some kook will think I'm bullshiting.
I love the "I was living in Hawaii in 1969! No one waved flags, we all were glued to our TV sets.......I REMEMBER!"
How did you monitor what everyone in the state was doing? How do you know what people were doing outside if you were inside "glued" to the TV? Do tin foil hats give you special powers or did "The Voices" tell you?

maggiemae, your buttboy George the Retard did a damn good job turning us into a 3rd world shit-hole. How many jobs were created during his 8 years? Maybe your government job.
You want to know why because right now most of the oil that can be drilled cheaply has been pulled out of the ground. It cost to damn much to get what we have left. Oil has to be above 100 dollars a barrel to make a profit. What happens when oil gets above 100 dollars this nation goes into recession. Because too many people can afford House note, car note, credit cards, health insurance, gas and groceries. That's why we are where we are you ignorant right wing nut. Who started this BS? Ronald Reagan by tripling our national debt with a democratic congress, Bush 41 keeping his voodoo economics, Clinton added some but Republicans kept him in check. Then the douche-bag republicans got their wish a republican retard named George as president. In his 8 years, 6 with his butt-boys in charge of both houses doubled the national debt from George Washington thru Bill Clinton. Left us in a bad recession, fighting two wars and gave Obama 800 billion of his first year debt.
Maggiemae pull your head out of that elephants asshole and let your brain get some oxygen. Before one of your government managers fires your ass for diddling away on here.

Regarding oil usage in this country...
There are alternative technologies that have long been out there, but have not been truly explored for use on a large scale. Hydrogen, electric, and biofuels are all options that are out there. All the companies selling "green" cars are selling four wheel, shopping cart- sized toys that have no cargo capacity, which doesn't work for people in rural areas, like where I live.
I hate to point this out to you, but the carbon tax nonsense, and the other tax increases that are coming our way as a result of the new administration, will drive more of the bigger businesses overseas, along with their jobs. When all is said and done, there won't be more jobs in the USA, there will be less. There is only so much room in the new technology sector, just like there can only be so many cooks in a kitchen.
I drive a full size GMC truck. I put about three hundred miles on it in a month, since I don't work outside the home. But I do use it for my occasional trips to town, and for hauling firewood, trash, scrap steel and aluminum, and any other large or dirty items I wouldn't dream of putting in a car. It only gets about 18 MPG on the highway, probably 13 to 14 in town, but if you compare the output in carbon emissions to that of a more fuel efficient car, driven a lot more because it's cheaper on gas, the output is about the same.
I can't use a car. So I'll be punished by the new taxation for having the unmitigated gall to need a truck. I guess when push comes to shove, we'll have to remind those creeps who is the real boss in the "united states of America"...That's the people, not the corporate entity.
There's no point in getting nasty about viewpoints on this or any other board. So I won't.
The biggest problem we have in this country today is there are just too many lawyers and not enough honesty.

There's an article in the Boston Globe attesting to the officer's non-racial history:
“It bothers him terribly that he couldn’t save him,’’ Crowley’s 74-year-old mother, Verina Crowley, said yesterday, speaking of her son and the famous basketball player."
"He’s evenhanded and, in the cases I’ve had with him, he’s been very much in control and very professional,’’ said Joseph W. Monahan III, a criminal defense lawyer in Cambridge and former Middlesex County prosecutor.]
Could the officer simply have walked away from the man without arresting him? I'm not a law enforcement officer, so I can't say.
Sergeant at eye of storm says he won't apologize
[Nearly 16 years ago, as a Brandeis University police officer, Crowley desperately tried to save the life of Reggie Lewis after the Boston Celtics star collapsed while practicing in the school gym.“It bothers him terribly that he couldn’t save him,’’ Crowley’s 74-year-old mother, Verina Crowley, said yesterday, speaking of her son and the famous basketball player."

Maggiemae, Did Ronnie Reagan "God to all Conservatives" triple the national debt or not. Did Bush 41 add to the debt or not? Clinton with republicans ended his *8 years with more money coming in than being spent. Did they do that with George the retard? No, they added more debt than 42 previous administrations combined. Just how many jobs were created by George the retard and Reagans voodoo economics if you add all the jobs created in those 16 years it about 19 million jobs. Add Jimmy peanut and Bubba's 12 years up and you get 30 plus million.
Keep your head up that elephants ass that fine. That's all this country needs is another brain dead republican.
Hopefully, you'll pull it out before then and wake up to the fact both parties don't give a rats ass about average everyday people.

Maggiemae,
Drilling for our own oil isn't going to change anything except our own ecosystem for the worst.
It won't change prices or the fact that we need to change our ways.
It won't help as much as it will harm.
Like I said, we have had decades to make the changes needed and we did not. It wasn't profitable.
We let the rail system go to hell, we built our cities all wrong, we went from glass to plastic which was a big mistake.
Everything that's been done was in the name of profit, and all for the short term. No vision for our future because the money makers can always make money around the world. No loyalty to the country they call home. Why bother when you have the resources to live anywhere you like.
I hope you trust the person standing next to you, your survival may depend on that person one day.
I have seen the end coming for many years now, all this other stuff is just to keep us busy while the world is milked dry by the great powers that now control us.
Its coming make no mistake.
So all this bitching about politics is useless, you can't stop it, its more then just us and our problems with where Obama was born. Its the big one coming.
No one wants to pay the price for stopping it.
In the end we will pay a higher price.
Having a viable planet will be the only way some will survive, and thats almost gone.
Keep your oil and your government handouts, your money and your credit cards. They won't feed you when the time comes.
All we can do is delay whats coming.
Moons.

Trace, why do you think conservatives approve of Bush's expansion of the deficit? Could it be that one reason democrats won back the majorities in both houses of Congress and later the presidency because horrified conservatives (that horror created because the republicans were sure not acting like they believed in smaller government) sat on their hands election day?? Could it be, just possibly, that conservatives desperately tried to pound that lesson into the collective RINO consciousness the only way they could?

Sad but true Moons.
Trace, you seem preoccupied with other peoples and animals sphincters. Whatever floats your boat.
