All races,  are racist. What are white people? I dont even know anymore. Im chickasaw! My family, used to be really racist. when i was a little girl. My mom beat the crap out of me for playing with a little black boy, that i met a church camp. I didnt even get to be around black people, until I was 18 and moved out. My sister, is pregant now with a little boy, the father is black. My mom had it coming. lol! but im really proud of her, she is really excited about her new grandson. I think now, my family has been cured. They have excepted the father and all his family. we are going to have our first get together, june 9 at my sisters baby shower. Believe me its a miricle!

vonissk, no I wasn't born in 1890, but I was born @ Standing Rock North Dakota in 1973. You act like Wounded Knee only happened in the 70's ... then again that's how FireLight and PBS illustrated it.

Where in OK did you grow up that you experienced racism against NA's?  My ancestors did not get on the Dawes roll (LOTS of reasons NOT to, NAs could not own property, vote, ect.) but my blood shows very strongly in my features. Until I was in maybe third or fourth grade, we still had a couple of small villages of wickeups (traditional Potawatomi stick houses) on the outskirts of Shawnee. I grew up with primarily Potawatomis, Choctaws, Chickasaws and some Chikamauga Cherokees.  Never once did I hear any disparaging remarks to or about NAs. We went regularly to the stomp dances (always a ton of fun for the little kids) and I was taught to respect ALL peoples' heritage.  I am as proud of my "white" blood as I am of my NA blood. 

I am just extremely tired of the powers that be using race to divide and control the populace and the sheeple (of ALL races) being dumb enough to buy into it.

One can also choose to take heart, and the hope of HE who said, "the meek shall inherit the Earth".  I think what we've done recently, and what we do today is more telling of the American caucasians' level of racial tolerance. All this retroactive apologizing (the Pope is doing it, too) seems downright silly to me.

Maybe in some after-life, but speaking historically, the meek get wiped OFF the face of the earth!
