Guess you have some good lawyers on your side Christopher.

Yep, I sure do! I also have some good cops on my side. And both sides have respect for the rule of law and what the other sides place is in the justice system.

What county would that be Jyl?
What state?
Very curious indeed.

I know exactly what your boyfrend is talking about Jyl.

Christopher, if you do know any cops why don't you ask them what they think about criminal defense atty's like the one Luvdemdogs referred too.  I'm sure they feel the same way I do.  Keep in mind that lawyers are not sworn in in court and dont promise to tell the truth.   There are some very reputable, ethical, and professional defense atty's but they are few and far between.  I have tremondous respect for the legal system and the law.  I have an excellent reputation with the prosecuters and judges in my city.   I don't vioate peoples rights and I don't bring crappy cases to court.

I resent your comment about the "street justice," it certainly doesn't reflect my views or feelings.   Once in a while you add some worthwhile comments on training. More often than  not you add succinct, sarcastic and obnoxious comments.  Sometimes they are very witty.  I've never insulted you for having your opinion even when I haven't agreed with it.

Sorry, but I have strong views on drug use and dope dealers and I'll post them on topics like this.  It pushes my buttons when people condone marijuana as a safe peaceful drug.  I 've seen way too much violence and lifes ruined over weed.  Everyday I think about my partner that was shot and killed standing next to me while we knocked and announced on a marijuana search warrant last year.

So, if you want to judge me at least get it right.   I'm pretty straight forward about my views.  Come and ride with me for a shift and then you can form a more educated opinion.

FWIW,

Jim

I'd have to agree with two moons.

Well Uber, I am pretty open minded.  Please, let me know what I am missing.  I'm not being facetious either.  Listen if someone sits at home and smokes a joint and doesn't drive a car, that's ok with me.  I realize it's not the crime of the century.    If pot was legalized tomorrow I'd be fine with that.  What gets me is that most of these fun loving pot smokers, if not all think its ok to smoke and drive.  You know who you are.  You can't even explain to a pot smoker that driving while high is the sameas drinking and driving.  Jyl hit the nail on the head.

Pot smokers will agree that weed gets you high or stoned, but will say they drive better when high.  I know some of you smoke weed or you know someone that does.  Don't they think they drive better stoned?

Let me know what I am missing,  I am being serious.   Maybe someone can offer me a fresh perspective.  Because, I'm not sure I'm the one that can't see the forest form the trees.

Most pot smokers know driving stoned is not OK . Bussed driving is still bad driving . Same as some old lady or man jacked up on their prescription drugs are for more dangerous drivers then pot smoking stoned drivers but they do it any way . Ya ever wonder how many prescription drugs impair the ability to drive  ??  I will answer that .  LOTS OF THEM

I would not compare driving after smoking pot to driving after drinking alcolhol.  I have heard the car accident statistics before with fatal wrecks due to the driver smoking pot, alot of times, OTHER medications were found in the system such as Xanax, valium, oxycotin, and even alcohol.  you don't hear about the xanax or anything though, just that they had pot in their system.

I feel if pot was legal, we would have LESS drug crimes, the drug dealers would be put out of business.  all this drug killing going on in the mexican/texas border towns would diminish ect.  Where would you prefer to get your pot, local convience store and pay tax like with cigarets, or from a shady drug dealer?

how much money does law inforcement spend a year arresting people just for pot?  what percentage of the prison pop. is there strictly for minor drug violations such as pot? how much of their time and money could be spent chasing after more dangerous people such as rapist or murders?

People want to use pot as a recreational drug, fine with me.  keep it at home.

its the alcohol I have a major issue with.  my family has a history of mean drunks, and I absolutly hate alcoholics.

Marijuana has soo many uses, medical, textile, food, building materials.  it produces more crops a year than cotton or corn or wheat, uses minimal water to grow.  imagine the jobs it would create on farms, the tax revenue, ect.

I have never met a violent pot smoker.

Sorry about your partner man, but I would bet that the person who shot him was doing more than just marijuana.
