My congratualtions to all the winners and those highly placed at Crufts 2009. I was delighted in the type that was successful, and I hope the Kennel Club continues to appoint Judges to judge at Crufts who judge to the correct interpretation of our GSD breed standard. I would also hope that ALL General Championship Committees will learn by the Kennel Clubs appointments of Judges of GSD at Crufts, particularly for 2008 and 2009, and learn from them. They should ALL appoint GSD Judges who judge to the CORRECT interpretation of the GSD breed Standard. Such positive action should be actively encouraged by the Kennel Club and our GSD Breed Council and all GSD enthusiasts, through direct contact to ALL General Championship Show Secretaries and committees. Much more work needs to be done in this area.

I have received a report of apalling behaviour towards the wife of the GSD Judge at Crufts, and towards one of the stewards. This appalling behaviour apparently came from a leading Alsatianist,  Apparently triggered by the Judge witholding of any awards in the female Post Graduate class. If what I have been told can be substanciated, I trust that it will be formally reported to the Kennel Club, and if proven, dealt with most severely. Such behaviour is reprehensible and totally unacceptable. The Kennel Club need to ensure that such behaviour never happens again. I feel sure that the majority within our breed, when they are aquainted with the facts, and if proven, will support the harshest of punishments meted out by the Kennel Club.

Mr Hopwood
would you please post us a picture of  the type of GSD you think should have won at crufts and give us all a laugh!!
We know the dog that won personally and i can assure you that the dogs movement is outstanding as is his temperament and conformation
So please lets see your ideal GSD

So well done Lesko you must all be very happy.
I think the judge did a good job and i heard about what the lady said to his wife and i think it is terrible.

Hi I'm new to posting here.

I feel the need to comment about crufts yesterday.  I was there and thoroughly enjoyed the day. I thought the judging was very fair and balanced and imo the judge was correct to withold the placings for Post Grad bitch.

I sat around the ring for most of the day and up until that moment had not heard any derogatory comments from either of the factions. It wasn't until the open class that I could overhear snippetts of a conversation behind me discussing how none of "them" could move and that all they new what to was was to run around in a circle - these comments made me chuckle -  unfortunately I missed the rest of the converstion because my mother came back full of excitement because we had done extremely well with our bitch in the previous class.

I would like to know what these people judge their standards of movement on?  Also something that I found very prominant throughout the day was that the majority of GSD's as opposed to the Alsations really showed that they enjoyed the ring, they were alert and full of energy whereas some of the Alsation types had no "oomph" in them, there appeared to be no enjoyment in their eyes and their body language - is this how they are trained to be in the ring or is it now part of that type of breeding characteristic?

Correct me if I am wrong, but the GSD in question (Conadrew Lesko) now represents the Healthy free from "defects" fit for purpose GSD,  again correct me if I am wrong; Does this means that the Conadrew Afflix is now the best Kennels to get a GSD from ?

Vertico:
You were going so well in your message until you mentioned Malcolm Griffiths-I hope they don't model themselves on him,he was found guilty of criminal activities regarding false pedigrees, so apart from swindling the buyers of his dogs he messed up the breed lines as well.

georgehopwood; Your ranting clearly illustrate your very limited knowledge of the GSD, and like an empty vessel you make a lot of noise, unfortunately you also write a great deal of nonsense about GSD. You are on a par with pencil, perhaps you two could form a mutual appreciation duo, and PM each other, and stop commenting on this message board. I am sure such an unselfish act by the two of you would be appreciated by all. Some hope! Where else in your pathetic little lives would either of you illicit any response from anybody other that **** off?

Mr Hopwood you are still rambling on, I am still waiting for you to give us a photograph of your ideal GSD. I will also reiterate that Lesko is a fine example of the Breed. Am I bias of course I am I have bred his half sister and she also is a fine example of what a GSD should be. Or is the rest of the world wrong. Come on lets have a piccy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
