WTF happened to Jed?

ShelleyR

by ShelleyR on 10 March 2009 - 21:03

Goofball Jed is two now, in training for his ScH titles. We can't train here over the winter so I couldn't get him ready in time for Chicago. He is soing quite well these days, turning into quite the man.

I do hope you find a way out here Shelly.  No takers on the handling to defray your costs?

Oh, they got rid of the "Open" (24+ mos w/o title) non-titled class for good? Would it really be that bad to allow a dog to be shown ONCE in open, even at the SS?

Mystere:
Thanks for the understanding of my comment.  I beleive the "pulling" back in the Sieger Show helper work is a diservice to the breed.  I am really a newb to this, love the look of the showlines and want them to be respected.  If I have any goal in this sport it is to have a dual dog.  Not nessesarily a VA, but a high V that can get in the 270-280 range in a trail.  Wish me luck!
I also agree with you, they should continue the Open Class for at least 2-4 years olds to keep us HOT trainers in the loop.  I think the entries and the attitude prevents a good turn out and it is a cost savings for USA and WDA.  They still have to take the 2-3 hours to do the ring work and the entries don't justify the cost of the time.

Shelly:
I am trying to get a dog mortaily ins. company to come out, if we can arrange a room mate that way, will you be able to afford the travel or is the ride a really limiting factor??

The helper work should be of the same intensity as another trial show or working, If not it only is a diservice to the breed. And the judges are keenly aware of that or they should,nt be judges.

I MAY have one dog to handle, 12-18 puppy female. I'm usually running on the outside of the ring these last few years except for the off-leash lap and the protection tests. I guess nobody thinks I know how to handle. LOL
I'd hate to think I'd done this for 20-something years and not learned anything from all those handlers I brought over to handle MY dogs. Ha ha ha.
...or... maybe they got tired of watching me fall out of my tank top in my 50's!

I guesss I could put an ad up here... Been meaning to post one for training anyway.

Pardon my boldness but fine art is fine art no matter what it,s covered or not with.

Well Shelly, I am hoping for decent weather here in Chicago for that weekend, but I doubt tank tops will be an option!  Sweatshirts a definate item to put in the suitcases.  I just hope Mother Nature pulls no tricks and we need snow shoes and parkas for the weekend!  Never happened in my 42 years of living here, but Murphy's Law and Choas Theory are all in effect!  Typically great weather for the dogs, upper 60's lowere 70's, not so much for tanks and shorts.

WTF happened to global warming??
