steve, i would love to see some of your tracking vids. let me know when you get them posted. also, do you have any of your tracking training written up on your site? i think my main problem in tracking (besides the lack of liking it) is not having someone to really teach me any ideas.

Oh, c'mon, John!! Your problem with tracking is the same as everyone else's! You must get up at 0-dark:30 to do it, usually when it is the coldest part of the day, through damp-wet grass (or cold damp dirt). It is BORING! You lose sleep.
You have to keep putting your hand into a baggie of cut-up wienies that are cold and greasy. Then, you get hungry, tromping around out in the field. You are tempted to eat said cold, greasy wienies. You must engage in battle strategies with crows...and you saw "The Birds" enough to know that you don't mess with crows!!
If you are going to use a park for tracking, you must get up even earlier in the spring/summer, because every runner/biker/soccor player/and pet-dog walker are up early on Sunday morning for their blasted "constitutional." If you intend to use a soccor field, there are always some damn guys in shorts getting up early to use it, too.
If you use a highway median strip, the State Troopers show up to find out what you are doing, because some yahoo called 911 about a person "acting suspiciously."
You lose your track....easily. Landmarks become far too important in your life. Plus, you spend a lot of money on articles, as in lost ones.
You sacrifice valuable sleeping time.
It's boring.

LOL Mystere! How true is that!
The soccer coaches are always fun to deal with, had one tossing my articles off of the track
But nothing like cross tracks!
