FBI Probing Canine Unit; Lawsuits Recount Attacks By Pr. George's Police Dogs

BYLINE: Ruben Castaneda, Washington Post Staff Writer

SECTION: A SECTION; Pg. A01

LENGTH: 3979 words

I can go on-and-on. VB, you are a fool for sending this woman your $ and talking about the Rights of Illegals. It has nothing to do with being Illegal or not. It has to do with this woman sending her dog when she shouldn't have. She's been sued, investigated, reprimanded, and finally jailed. And all Ugly can come up with is that she received awards. Okay, ugly, I'm trying to help you track down those awards you mentioned. They might exist but I haven't found them yet...i'm looking.

"Cpl. Stephanie Mohr is named in three pending lawsuits. Mohr, 28, joined the police department in 1993, according to a court deposition.

* Aug. 3, 1997: Kheenan Sneed, 16, of Forest Heights was sleeping in a neighbor's hammock when he was awakened by Mohr's police dog biting him in the leg, according to a lawsuit filed in Prince George's County Circuit Court. Mohr and another officer allegedly beat Sneed about the head with their flashlights or batons while the dog continued to bite him. Sneed and his mother said officers told them they were chasing a man who tried to break into a nearby store.

* April 24, 1997: David Jones, 16, stole a car in Bowie and led Prince George's County officer on a high-speed chase into the District. According to a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in the District of Columbia, two Prince George's county officers, Cpl. M. Warren and Cpl. J. Schreiber, broke the driver's side window, hit Jones in the head with their batons, pepper-sprayed him and yanked him out of the car after the car ran out of gas. Once Jones was outside the car, the officers allegedly continued to beat him, tried to blast pepper spray into his mouth, then handcuffed the teenager face-down on the street. Mohr arrived and allegedly let loose her dog, which bit Jones once in the upper left arm. Jones said that Mohr told him, "You must want to die" before setting her dog loose.

* Aug. 26, 1996: Cpl. Ronnie Quick ran a check on a car that Bryan A. Diggs was standing near in Capitol Heights. Quick approached Diggs, who ran away. Quick fired three shots at the unarmed Diggs, striking him in the thigh. Diggs says he crawled into a wooded area until he reached a barbed wire fence, then cried out that he had been shot. About 15 minutes later, Mohr and her police dog arrived. According to the lawsuit filed in Prince George's County Circuit Court, Mohr ordered the dog to attack Diggs, and Diggs was bitten repeatedly on his left bicep."

Judged by your peers, not a group of savages who will assume their own justice, as we saw in the OJ Simpson trial, whom we all know killed his wife and her friend.

I dont blame the officer for erroring on the side of caution, if she ever error'd at all.

I do not give a fig if you are white, black, brown or purple with yellow polka dots. I do care if you are a criminal and committing crimes in our streets. We are headed for some very tough times and can not afford to have them on the streets. I understand the court systems also and the news articles. I have seen first hand reporters at the sceene of an accident and how it is reported, no where near what actually happened (not even close), to the point I wondered if they were even there. The court system and juries do not get ALL the facts and what they do get is not always the truth, from either side. Our court system is  BROKEN. I am sorry if she is acting irrationally, then she should be FIRED, not jailed. I do not want our police to afraid to protect for fear they will go to jail.

If you are hanging your hat on the media, court transcripts, you need to be educated in that areana.

And that has nothing to do with Stephanie Mohr and her misuse of her K-9. Don't pull random articles! Find some to support Mohr being a wonderful cop.....you can't. She wasn't!

So you hang your hat on the unbiased reporting of Ugly.

This is what happens when an officer is passive and overcome by a larger Criminal Perp.

Factor a woman in the equation, at 1/3 of a mans weight & strength.

Watch the  female cop  almost get killed

Two wrongs will never make one right. I don't care what you say you miss use the power that is given to you, you should do the time. She got what she deserves.

'Threatening to release her dog'  has nothing to do with this case, and I dont see it as being worthy of mention, let alone an issue.

Cops do it now with pepper spray or Tasers. Stop or I will tase you.  Or in her case, I will release my dog...to avoid a situation escalating and having to pull out a gun and deadly force.

What is so hard about this?  ITs black and white.   Why must you side with the criminals & Perps that have no respect for the law?

These F'in Illegals will make a million dollars off the case and have no right to even be here!  You dont see the irony? THey should be F'in Shot, on the border while trying to enter.

Maybe she was too gung ho,  granted, But that never effected her department awards & commendations, did it?
