Pat,

What team are you referring to?

Thanks!

There is (not sure about Ron and his dog) only one HOT dog on the USA team: Ronny and Issa

Way to go Mark and Joker!

Edgar Scherkl is doing amazing with B:96, C:99 !!!

Anyone know anything about this trainer or his methods? I hear he was a pupil of Helmut Raiser......

Christopher writes:

I know Edgar. I stayed at his place and trained with him for about a month a few years ago. Edgar is a fanatic protection trainer. He really understands that protection is not a game and teaches his dogs that they are on the field to fight not play tug-o-war.

Edgar has won all of the Malinois championships and the FCI. Most with his dog A’Desert.

IMO, anyone that knows how to train protection well is a student of Raiser. Even those that have never met the man. But I would not call Edgar a pupil of his.

Mark and joker got a 290 total  good job....

I want to make 2 points:

1. Scherkl - fantastic score - 294.

2. The Malis are kicking the GSDs butts! Shame.

He really understands that protection is not a game and teaches his dogs that they are on the field to fight not play tug-o-war.

Can you elaborate? Does this mean he brings in defense earlier/ more often rather than focus on prey? Does he ahve a video/yputube i could watch?

"2. The Malis are kicking the GSDs butts! Shame. "

Husband (who is there and competing) said the quality and work of the Mals is the best he has seen at the FCI.  Pretty impressed.

It’s an overall attitude about protection. It’s not about defense and prey. It’s not really something that is easily explained.
