Would anyone please tell me about this dog...he is on our site ad today as being the best young gsd in Europe.????
Is he not too staked , wrong? or too severe?

by tigermouse on 15 July 2008 - 22:07
looks bloody awful to me .....really bad stack

by VonIsengard on 16 July 2008 - 04:07
The stack is bad but the dog is still overangulated in the rear with a very steep croup. I couldn't get my dog to look like that if I tried.

These are the placements or titlings , what ever they want to call them, that the dog I posted has on him? very confusing how a dog with that kind of back could get these honors. Could it just be a bad stack. I surely wouldnt advertise my dog like that if i wanted people to pay for his stud service, no matter what awards he has. Is this normal in the shows in Europe? I assume you call this a Show line dog.

It's pretty much the norm in European GSD (actually almost difficult to not have a roach back!). This is not what the standard say:
The withers should be higher than, and sloping into, the level back to enable a proper attachment of the shoulder blades. The back should be straight and very strongly developed without sag or roach, People must like that cause they keep breeding them again an again. Go figure!

Soon enough the dogs will be Bi-peds and no longer our 4 legged friends.
