Sorry folks, IMO, it's the political funding and the mentality of the lunatic fringe, animal rights extremists that fuels the power machinery for AC abuses.
Moments ago, I received this email from Bill Hemby of PetPAC:
Dear Louise,
Today a mandatory/spay neuter ordinance mandating sterilization at 4 months of age was passed by the Los Angeles City Council. The supporters of this bill including PETA, Assemblymember Lloyd Levine and Campaign Director Judie Mancuso are now moving to pass AB 1634, a statewide mandatory/spay neuter bill for California.
PetPAC is announcing today a renewed campaign effort to defeat AB 1634 once and for all. As opponents of mandatory sterilization laws, we must act immediately to stop these efforts to strip away the rights of pet owners.
Our opponents have recently raised millions of dollars to take away pet owners rights…today I am asking PetPAC members to once again contribute so we can continue the fight to defeat AB 1634.
One of the arguments used to pass the mandatory spay/neuter ordinance in Los Angeles was to prohibit ANY new dogs or cats from being born until the shelters were emptied. Our opponents include radical extremists who wish for the elimination of all family pets. Please don’t delay, we need your financial contribution today. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Bill Hemby
Chairman
Please, people, if you truly care about the GSD breed and its future and about honorable breeders (of ours and of other breeds) everywhere, do not turn a blind eye to what is happening in California. Please, put your money where your mouth is.

jletcher18: louise, can the petition be signed by anyone, or do you have to live in california?
Yes , John, so long as your live in the United States and use your real name and give your ZIP code.
Even better, visit the website and make a financial contribution it it is within your means--please.
You can bet that all the folks from PETA, HSUS, and the ASPCA supporting these measures do no live in California.
Assemblyman Levine does not even own a pet--spayed, neutered, or otherwise. He is riding piggyback on the extremists because they provide the funds to help Levine achieve his political goals. There is no doubt that he aspires to be governor and beyond that!

Want to learn more about your rights and those of your animals, consider joining this Yahoo group:
http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/pet-law/
You know, we spend way to much time on various internet forums patting one another on the back and cooing over sweet puppy pictures. Get real, folks--before you have no intact pets, show/working stock, or litters.
Spread the truth! The humaniacs and politicians are telling the public boldfaced lies in order to to advance themselves politically and monitarily!

Yep, you are correct Louise, and it's only one part of the "globalist" agenda to take away all our rights and end our national sovereignity. I find it interesting that all these rights limiting movements seem to originate outside our country, ie in Canad or Europe. Suspicious, no?

I'm about to start a new and related thread regarding AC and it's co-dependent relationship with the AR activists. Blitzen sent me a copy (with permisssion to cross-post) of an article orginally published in her Malemute breed newsletter.
Look for the thread A Thousand Snakes in the Grass by Margaret Anne Cleek. Due to its length, I will have to post it in several parts. Please no comments on this thread until I've finished posting it.
