Thanks, Dawgs! :-) Well, I don't want to start another thread for this, but I just got back from a visit to a veterinary specialist. I'm $500 poorer, but the NEWS IS GOOD! The ultrasound she did on Ranger's bladder show his prostate is NORMAL in size and texture. His bladder looks really good, too. So, if his bloodwork comes back normal, which I'm pretty sure it will, we're going to try him on a medication to tighten up the sphincter of the bladder, and see if that stops him leaking! Wheeeeewwwwwwhhhhh!! She said he was the 'perfect patient' and was quite happy to munch cookies while she did the u/s. She also said he looks to be in perfect health and body condition: excellent weight, muscle tone, nice thick glossy coat, etc. So, hopefully, there's no reason to rush the pupster into taking over his job! I'm quite happy with the job they did. They took blood from a vein on the inside of his rear leg, so there was no need to shave him. Since it was just the bladder and prostate being examined, they didn't have to shave him for that, either. When another vet did a full abdominal u/s last summer, they shaved his whole belly, from the ribcage back, and halfway up both sides of his body, and I was worried that if they did the same thing in winter, he'd suffer from the cold. Hey, there's nearly a foot of snow out there right now, and winter's just getting started here in the Great White North! Anyway, I am one very happy dog owner today!! And an awww!! ain't that cute moment, if you can stand it ... While the vet was writing her notes up after doing the exam, Ranger gave me his paw to hold. When I dropped it after a minute or two, he gave it to me again... "Hold my hand, momma, I'm scared!" What a big suck! He only LOOKS scary!
