the guy in the back checking out the handler's ass is Dan Smith, who bred several champions sired by this male!!
You know something funny? I met Dan at the Canadian Nationals this year, and he quite proudly showed me Jim, who's now 12 yrs old, but still looking pretty good. I was actually thinking of e-mailing him to ask about this picture!
Too bad I didn't e-mail him this thread!
ROTFLMFAO!!
(I didn't recognize him in that photo, because he no longer has the beard...)
Thank you, Louise and tighe! I thought the dog strongly resembled Dallas, but I guess I just didn't stumble across the right picture when checking his ancestors.
And Kalibeck, yes, I probably deserved that. But if Fred liked the dog, hey, he couldn't be too bad. Can't see Fred choosing a hock-walker to pin for first place.
I'd post the pic of Dan and Jim, but unfortunately, Dan didn't pose the dog very well, and his head is hidden. It's not a very flattering pic of Dan, either. I'll spare him the embarrassment, in case he ever wanders in here....

Oops, of course that last comment was addressed to Silbersee, not Kalibeck!

Heart Throb was 5 x AM Sel. And the sire of over 35 AM Champions. He should be 14 now and was still doing pretty good a few months back. I seen him when he was 11 when I went to breed to his son GV Honky Tonk. He was a very healthy happy dog back then and loved his ears and belly rubbed lol

Don_ I think you were mistaken; the judge was not looking at the handlers ass but rather I believe he was checking out the dogs ASS!

I believe he was checking out the dogs ASS!
I believe that he was asleep.

Louise- LMAO! That's also a good possibility.

Forgetting all the arguments about lines for the moment I have noticed that AKC show shepherds really look immaculately groomed in those photos and in shows that I've seen. Any secrets from the AKC show people here?
Special shampoos, dietary supplements, brushing techniques, sprtiz of distilled water on the fur?, bathing how many minutes before the show? etc.

Blower, Blower re-wet and blower.

Jeff O,
Whereas I am pleased and flattered by your marriage proposal, I feel tentative to accept your amorous advances after such a brief courtship. Please express your heart's true desire in a touching love sonnet, or maybe just a dirty limerlick.
Send a picture of your dog and your kennels, a copy of your scorebook and your helper Certification, and then we'll talk about a date for our nuptials.
