"Better" is as "better" does.
My hat goes off to anyone who competes in any dog sport where the exercises are not choreographed routines, passed down virtually unchanged from generation to generation.
Better to own a mutt from the pound that can do SAR and find a lost child in the woods than a pink papered over bred product of the "fancy" that can only execute a rehearsed routine on cue.
Bonus points to those which can do both.

Here is a video that shows the athleticism of both dog and decoy in this sport

GARD,
Thanks for sharing that video clip. Unbelieveable! All Malis and Dutchies?!?
Well, I guess that's what you get when you breed for working ability above all else.

Yes there are alot of GSD's doing the sport in France. Very few make it to the selectiff, cup, or finales. The one's that do just don't win.
Boxer's don't win wrestling matches. Pure single diciplin martial artists don't win UFC. It doesn't mean they are not great athletes that just the way things are.
