Hey I did say that
"and if she is living with and playing with other dogs, you may try to separate them for a while and again her only fun comes through you".
Sorry I am bored tonight, not looking forward to work tomorrow!
While I am listening to my own two dogs growl and fight with each other!!!! Isn't all of this the advice we are all given but seldom follow ourselves??!! Have a good night all ~ Kari

Kelly I am a softie like you, hope the liver works. I'm glad to hear someone elses GSDs no how to push buttons!! Funny she focus's off leash but not onleash though.... don't forget to doctor the liver with garlic salt or powder and tease with it so she can smell it but not see it. She should focus on your hand and go from there.

Kelly: If you do as gard said ,,,it works that is your problem in a nutshell.....pups focus on the other dogs, the birds overhead, the noises , the anything but you if let free......pupppy must be kenneled.....her everything now is you.....no doggies no anyone.....I do not let my pups play after 8 weks old but for 25 mins a day....and to be around other canines......I dont let big dogs play with them as the over dominate them and can hurt them Only feed what his meal is each day during training....our trainer in south texas hasnt use a bowl in years,,,every drop of food the dog gets is in training.....
try the sitting on the floor and eat the last meal out of you hands,,,,just pup and you....
dont worry about a leash now,,,,get back to the basic and work thur that..... put a short cut off lead on her , hanging.,,,not to be used unless an Emerg comes up........
If you work on the sit and eye contact, put the food in your mouth hold up to eyes....and as soon as she makes eye contact ,,,,,,reward.....
in a week or two ,,,she will be precisioned.....
The reason I ask about how she was at birth,,,,,puppies that are aggressive in the nursing box, want to eat first ,push their way , and take over are dominant pups and that is one good sign.....a pup that seeks out its mom and sucks vigorously usually continues that trait as it grows and will be active and competitive...
Confidence, alertness, intelligence, sociability, competitiveness, aggressiveness and stability are all highly desirable qualities in a Schutzhund dog.Dr. Michael FOx book to read "Understanding your Dog" published by Coward, McCann and Georghegan../..
Dr. Clarence Pfaffenberger writes many article about puppy behaviour and tells what to look for in a pup and how to handle different behaviours.....In training schutzhund, the behaviour is important....when you encounter a problem..it is almost always about behaviour...... "The New Knowledge of Dog Behaviour.".../. publilsh by Howell Book House.
