Shelley Strohl

Thanks, Doggie. I cannot believe the response. I do want to contact yellowrose about Tehk-sas. Been browsing the net about various areas down that way. Looks like the cost of living and property availability of affordable acreage is excellent, as well as the job market, while CA is quite high.

Like they say: Eveything's big in Texas... Lots of dog clubs, events, etc. too.

I am so sick of ice & snow & not being able to train dogs for months every year I could scream, not to mention the cost and necessity of heating the kennel.  I'd rather face heat than cold any day. :)

No idea where I am going to end up for sure yet, but it is exciting investigating all the neat suggestions and offers. Target "fresh start": Sept. ?

Thanks again, all. You're too much!

I am overwhelmed by the kind offers and suggestions I am receving. Right now I am considering NJ, Ohio, CA, Texas, WI, ID, and a couple locations in the Southeast. I need to do some "on-site" re-con this summer somehow... perhaps attending some "events" in distant locations... CA maybe too $$$. Just the U-haul, trailer for the kennel panels, gas for two trips (one with dogs/dog trailer, one with big truck & my flatbed trailer with kennel panels & equipt.) would eat up at least $6K to go 3200 miles to CA. :( Then there will be rent, deposits, and a slush fund for settling in and getting on my feet with dogs/work. We have a trial scheduled here the end of Aug. and my pups won't be ready to go to new homes till early Aug. That gives me 3 months to scout new locations and raise the $ I will need for the fresh start. It would be crazy to try to do it all without careful planning and savings. I could end up even worse off than I am now... maybe.  Don't need that!

Again, thank you all for your support and help. With all the good thoughts and prayers, by this time next year I think I can reasonably expect to be a much happier woman, with happy dogs, in a much better situation.

 Keep those suggestions coming!

Sometimes, a sudden change due to bad circumstances can be a vlessing in disguise and bring you down the path of great new beginnings. God has a strange sense of humor but ,loves you and will show you new things.

Funk man,

I absolutely believe in what you said. For  every door that closes, a better one opens. I just hope I am listening well enough to hear Him the first time!

Shelley, so sorry to hear of your predicament. Hope everything works out for you. By the way, I got my vom Haus Miller pup on April 26 and she is an awesome little girl. Her official name is Zippy vom Haus Miller and I call her Spunky. I wish you and your dogs the best of luck.
