Steve & Connie Miller or Steven Beal is the way to go in WI. I have a dog that I bought through them and have also used a dog of Steve Millers for stud. They have NICE dogs and are honest people.

of all the kennels peopel mentioned, I would try Steve Beal or Landschaft.  THE most important thing is that you communicate exactly what you want and need.  how much support will you want from the breeder?  How do they train and how will you train?  Where are you going to train?  Who do those people have dogs from?  Please try to do much more research than this forum before you buy..... Ask them questions, look at the USA or WDA or AWDF sites and see what breeders are associated with them.    Repeat breedings?  what is the first litter doing?  If the breeder is also doing Schutzhund what is the club like and go watch their training.  If the club members are not nice or training is not your style......

My current dogs are 9 yo and back yard bred

6 yo BH from SteingTal (WI) dying from cancer

2 yo from Eichenluft in PA

My girl from Steinigtal is fabulous!  It is her pedigree that made her what she is, not what kennel she came from.  I would get another dog from them, if I knew the pedigree...i don't train the same as or with them.

i am so sorry for your loss.  I have had two months of knowing that there was nothing I could do, but knowing she is dying....  we tried chemo and it was not a god thing for her at all....

Best Wishes,

Darcy

I have had several dogs from Landschaft kennels in Marengo and have been very pleased with them and their dogs. After Marcy and Craig know what you would like the dog for they will let you choose if there are more than one suitable for your needs, available at that time.  I know a lot of people who have dogs from this kennel and have titled to sch3 and/or working on it now.

As far as breeders go, my only recommendation is for Marcy Blank and Craig Eugene of Landschaft Kennels.  In my opinion (and I have been in the sport for over 20 years) Marcy is a pedigree expert who has the knowledge and innate ability to match the best working dogs and bloodlines to create phenomenal puppies.  She is ethical, listens to your input, and will help you pick a puppy based on your needs and what you hope to do with the dog in life.  Her puppies have gone on to work in ALL walks of life from pets to Search & Rescue, from police/narcotic dogs to National Competitors in Schutzhund.  She has been breeding dogs for a long time and has a sense for finding popular working bloodlines before they become popular and desired.  She guarantees her puppies and stands behind her contract.

I have purchased dogs for myself from Marcy, dogs for police departments, and dogs for my closest friends.  You won't be disappointed if you choose to get your puppy from her!  I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Don't forget  Marcy Blank 815-568-6450. Kennel "vom Landschaft. Steve and Connie Miller and Marcy always have good dogs available at reasonable prices, and are expert at matching the "right" dog to prospective buyers.

wow, this thread started almost a year ago. i wonder if heartbroken ever did find a new dog? anyway i'll put in my 2 cents two. steve and connie miller were great when i bought spunky aka zippy vom haus miller from them. i told them what i wanted and steve advised me that showlines would suit my needs better. when i went to look at the two available females, connie told me the red collar was better about being handled and it just so happened she was the one my boyfriend fell in love with too, so it was a perfect match for our family. i will buy from them again someday since they were willing to work with me on getting the pup of my dreams. they have workinglines too but that would have been a bit much for our family.

If you are looking for a reputable breeder with really nice working lines in Illinois, you should talk with USA judge / AWDF president - Al Govednik ( algovfh@yahoo.com ). I know that he is about to have his third repeat breeding with his own dogs Hex/Lea both SchH3. I have a pup from the last litter and couldn't be happier!
