OP said they were new to the breed and wanted to do Sch...how this translate to anything with National level competitors or dogs, well I missed that part.
Thanks for helping me learn how to analyze and read a pedigree. Bred, trained, titled and imported Czech dogs in past 10 years but its good to know how the Czech/Slovak people think...never talked to a real one before....Peace!

Quote: Having spent my share of early mornings training in bad weather I can see why some people may not be interested in titles or work/sport and yet have a dog they feel is good enough to want to reproduce.
It is not just the weather that turns a lot of people off of sport. While there are some really nice people in dog sport, there are some awful backstabbing vindictive people out there as well. That is what a lot of people I have talked to over the years have said. They would love to train, but cannot deal with the ultra sensitive personalities, the sideline shit talkers and various other temperament faults that are seen in the sport world.
If you have gotten a dog from these people before, and you like the dog, then why even bring this up ? Titles in a better nicer world would be awesome to see on dogs, but many people just cannot deal with clubs and their little emotional problems.

OGBS, I appreciate the honest remarks on the lines in the pedigree. That was more or less what I was looking for, good combination of lines or "crapshoot."
Jeff, that is precisely why I am not bothered by the fact that the parents don't have titles. Yes there are plenty of great dog sport people out there but wholly shit there are some wierd people in this dog world. I have mostly competed in flyball and agility and now with meeting lots of people in the schutzhund world its a whole new world of "different" people. In my area there are a lot of red neck idiots who take there dogs out, beat the shit out of them, get them to bite a sleeve and call it schutzhund. I am not overly comfortable with shipping a puppy in, so I am stuck with choosing from a breeder with nice lines but breeds mostly for pets or people that IMO can't call themsleves trainers let alone breeders.

Odin24,
If you can, try to travel a little outside your area within a reasonable distance. If you need any help with where to look shoot me a pm and I will try to do what I can to help you.
If you aren't overly concerned with having a super high-level competition dog then you will probably find that this litter will have a pup for you. The good thing is you have been around the mother and you like her temperament. This, in my opinion, is extremely important in looking for a pup and certainly the place you want to start. If you want, send GSDPack a pm. She has a very, very good eye for choosing pups that are capable of working well, regardless of the venue. She can probably give you some really good pointers on what to look for and how to choose a pup.
As for people, what can you say, they are people!
My advice if you are at a club, pay attention to two things. First, the training. Second, pay attention to the people not on the field training. You will have a few types of people. Those who pay attention to the training on the field with very little to say, those who's mouth never stops with running commentary about each dog and handler on the field, and then those who pay no attention to the training and are there to talk about anything other than dog training. Stay away from the second two groups and your bad experiences with dog people will lessen.

The club I go to is great! All like minded people, anyone who likes to stir the pot generally gets the boot. Unfortunately none of them breed. The other club close to me does seem to have members with litters here and there, but wouldn't buy a dog from them. I am really just keeping my eyes open for now, want to focus on my young dog this summer, hopefully get a B and a 1 this summer. Looking more for next fall, just wanted to get a head start. This summer when I am looking more seriously and if I decide not to go with this breeder I will pm you see if you know of anything good out there.
Thanks
Thanks

Odin24, one of the things I like about this pedigree is the two Cars in mother's second generation. Car P going back to Titus has been a very successful mix with Car K for producing good sound working dogs. To have this on dam side is very good in general. The Titus/Car conbination has produced high quality working dogs with very balanced temperaments. Good Luck!

Jeff:
I tried to be nice... I've heard of some of the issues in clubs, luckily, Ive avoided having a personal experience in that yet. You are succinctly right. There are some folks out there that are not fit for human contact... But when you add up the relative dearth of clubs, the issues a lot of people bring with them to meetings and some of the weather conditions you must trian in, I can see how a lot of people get turned off from the whole titling work. While it is suposed to be "work" it should not become a chore.

The sad thing is that the really good people are outnumbered massively with the tools. I do want to say that I have been to clubs where everyone was out there making an effort to get everyone the best training possible.
I think this is one of my favorite training videos, as they are all working towards the goal. EVERYONE

Once again, I cannot get the thing to link. Damn. Maybe it is because I use a Mac ??
