Lynx,
You have now given every inbred hillbilly a rebuttal when criticized for marrying a relative.

The bloodlines can be very good..depending on the dog at hand.. and closer up front.. So very funn that comment someone mentions something in an ad that is just a statment there is regurgitation that what people put in ads is usually things they know nothing about... so hilarious.... I am sure that only you know what things mean or have understanding and everyone else is clueless that is why they state such things as *clear headed*... I think someone without any GSD experience can figure that out.
So yes origional poster.. Simply to offer an alternate for particular breedings that may be condensed on those lines and need an alternate. It is not a negative about the lines mentioned...they are often very good producing lines and that is why they were utilized to begin with. ... And as breeders are not just looking at a quick fix and usually looking ahead more then one generation it is a good ideal to keep open minded thinking and open eyes and ears to hopefull learn more adn do better far ahead.
Best,
Debi

to to OP, Why does Pepsi put Coke in the commericals? That stuff is expensive and to show your competitors brand, how dumb is that?
I would ask the person who placed the ad. There could be a million reasons and everyone's is different. In the time of this thread, the person placing the ad may have responded to you and you would have the answer you seek.

Oh, you like that, huh, Jenni? You breeders are mean and insensitive! I'm never coming back! I'm going to the Golden Retriever board where people are happy and nice.

Yeah, Don. Daryl rarely entertains me, but that was good. Damn good. See you on the GR board...as soon as I drink my happy tea.

Another reason on the Mink free is that Mink carried/passed on alot of handler agression. If your bitch/male already has those tendancies you might want to steer clear of that Mink stuff! I happen to love my in-bred hillbilly!!!!! Line bred 2-3 on Crock or 3-4 on Mink

True Vickie. And like they say, "those who know, know!"

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with these lines. I've ownes a couple. I'm just saying there should be, and is more out there. Those who know, know where to look for the same qualities outside these lines. If everyone had these lines, and these lines only, down the road...

Fredo,
My reference about "those who know" had nothing to do with Fero/Mink dogs being superior dogs to other lines. I certainly know that there are also many other great dogs outside of those lines. The reference was to what Vickie said about the handler aggression in Mink dogs, especially those linebred on Mink. It's there and if you've seen it, or owned it, you know what she is talking about. It also comes out a lot in dogs with both Mink and Fero in the pedigree.
