How about some facts to back up your knee jerk reaction? Hmmm?
And the idea that babies with guns as goofy and thinking a child will differentiate when it is loaded, and not! Is pure fantasy.

I am sorry but to take pictures of kids with guns they probably never fired is stupid and no less in front of the Christmas tree. Then we wonder why our society does the things we do. Guns, IMO, don't have a place in a Christmas celebration. Guns have proper places to be used like a gun range, hunting or target practice but in a Christmas picture. Fucking stupid. If someone ever sent me a picture of their kids at Christmas with an assault rifle, they would probably get it back. SMH. Imagine if one of those kids was shot accidentally and to think I would have to see that picture as a remembrance is mind blowing. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Noit,
I never said every black person who was killed by police was innocent. I have never said every cop is racist. I have never said blacks don't kill blacks. Blacks in general are much more likely to go to prison and for longer sentences than whites and that is fact. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2016/07/09/danger-of-being-black-in-america-maryann-james-daley/86891944/

Beetree, what would you like the facts to be about? As for knee jerk reactions, what is it I am knee jerking about?

Got some stats for Illegal heroin overdose deaths by race and socio-econonic status? The needle shooting type sold by street drug dealers? Not the prescription abuse type. The police blotter and papers are full of news about stops and paraphernalia discoveries. Pretty much every town and city in CT has experienced OD deaths, prompting jail time for the deadly drug batch seller, who is usually some white guy.
What part of the entire liberal-laced, rhetoric post you made wasn't a knee jerk ode to blamelessness of the perpetual helpless victim?
Even if one lives in a poor neighborhood in a home that needs repairs, it doesn't have to mean one should make no attempt to care for where one lives and accept that such circumstances are beyond help. Your housing picture juxtaposition as a montage was so calculated for that idea. When I lived in an apartment on a street with mixed residents, including section eight housing, there was a crumbling cinder block retaining wall in the front, postage stamp sized lawn. It was ugly and depressed looking as hell. I planted giant marigold seeds in them. They grew into an amazing border of color for all to enjoy. Well, except for the gang of kids who wouldn't be able to resist snapping off the blossom heads when they would walk by. Good thing marigolds are hardy and keep flowering more with such types of pruning. Just my own experience as an example.
My DHs family was/is dirt poor living ghetto style in the city. The way they talked, dressed etc., you might have thought they were Hispanic and not Italian/Irish/Jewish. Well, they lived in a multi-family house, their apartment had two bedrooms, with 5 boys and 1 girl children sharing the same bedroom growing up. This is just to give you an idea, that I actually have ventured outside of the suburb. Dysfunctional parents, alcoholism, pill popping and depression sure takes its toll --- no matter what is your skin color.
Any way, sometimes it just takes your own will to care to make yourself a change for the better.

Both stated that heroin abuse is on the rise since the crackdown on pill mills.

Could be why I missed the links the first time around.

Yeah Beetree, that happens to me too, here it is with bigger font lol
School systems such as in Michigan were poor children were getting breakfast and in some cases help with meals on the weekends have been cut out entirely by the Republican Governor and legislature of that state. Many children from low income households get their only complete and healthy meal of the day from school and many go hungry on the weekend.

This tripe that you trot out about the black community is the same tired bullshit that has been perpetuated for decades. Black folks are perfectly capable of intuiting their own realities. They don't need "liberals" to tell them that they have received a raw deal in the US. Lived experiences will inform them of that on a very regular basis. To your "question" about banning cops from ghettos.....are you kidding ? Nothing would change . A better question might be what if we had more cops patrolling the suburbs, looking around every corner for the soccer mom who also happens to be a cokehead. Or the upstanding white guy who also happens to be a child molester, or a disgruntled dude who just lost his job to any one of a number of "others",,,and who now feels the need to take everyone out ?
Social pathology abounds in the dominant culture , but because it isn't put on blast constantly , it seems to be off of the radar for the masses of white Americans, many of whom seem to take a strange delight in lecturing to minority communities about all of their faults while being completely oblivious to the irony that your own community leads the pack in social pathology. Fuck outta here!
I wonder what the incarceration statistics would look like if cops spent more time patrolling college dorms throughout the US and actually arresting and prosecuting those who were found to be in possession of much more potent drugs ? Care to take a guess ?
Am I justifying cop killing ? Of course not ! But methinks that a lot more forward progress could be made if some of us would actually learn something from history .
Does this take away from problems in the Black community? Hell no !!!
But it IS to say that the focus needs to be on systemic change not the blaming of a "culture" that really isn't.

Listen to these statistics! The truth is soooo unpopular these days.

Mindhunt, I can not find anything to substantiate your claim that children in Michigan are not part of the reduced cost and free lunch programs. The link above certainly contradicts your assertion where you are blaming the Governor (for being a Republican?) .
