The "dogs" are not dogs, they are racoons called racoon dog. No gentic relation to dogs. Amazing how the racoon part seemed to be left off of everything.

Although not a true "dog", they are a member of the canidae family which includes dogs.

Actually the racoon part was not left off the foxnews report. They reported on both Racoon dogs and domestic dogs....Go to Fox News in the business section if you want to read for yourself. Guess it is amazing they did mention them?

Google - dogs for fur - if you want to know which breeds are used in the fur trade business. As Desert Rangers said, domestic dogs are also popular.

My favorite vest is my coyote fur lined vest. It's a great vest. The only thing that could make it better is if it was wolf fur lined. Warm, functional, and stylish. :)

For sure NOT Walmart, think quality, fine custom leather goods not made off shore.

Ranchers kill hundreds of coyotes per year and leave hanging on the fences..

I my mind there's a big difference between wearing coycote fur or dog fur. My biggest concern is that dog fur is often mislabled when it is imported to the US, so we will never know for sure the source of the trim on any imported garment we puchase from a chain or discount store. If you have read the article I posted here earlier, you can see which store pulled the garments off their racks when they learned they wear selling dog fur and which just didn't care.
