Ah..., I gather you crate, spook. Well, it's time for me to take my guys to the field. You just might be surprised at how well they turned out--or maybe not. fireguy--I'm also glad it's working out--have fun.

Oh, spook--- Forgot to add (even though I was thinking it--just didn't type the words)---- I'm happy, and so are they. And.., I agree-- lots and lots of LOL with my dogs.

Don't say I did not warn you but good luck.

by spook101 on 10 February 2007 - 02:02

LMH, do you let them ride loose in your vehicle also?

by LMH on 10 February 2007 - 03:02

No spook--not for years. I installed two different types of barriers in the vehicles, keeping the boys out of the front seat. They are made of mesh--one much stronger than the other--car vs 4-runner. Not that pipe variety. If my memory serves me right, one ran around $70, the other $170. I'd look up the websites so you could check out the specs, but your truck is already equipped with a crate--yes? So, I'll worry about being side-swiped and you worry about being rear-ended, and we can both pray that our worries are ill-founded.

Yep....bad case of denial..common afflication of new GSD puppy owners who pay lots of cash and just don't understand how this precious little puppy could be so bad, even if scared of own shadow..Of course they get attached very quickly to that cute furr bundle and some breeders count of that! lol

I remember one idiot got huffy with a friend of mine because he thought her crate was too small that was in her vehicle. She put him im his place explaining how a huge crate would not be as safe as the correct sized one as the dog coul dbe thrown around more easily.

LMH, one last question. You said you were headed to the field, do you train in schutzhund?
