Mindhunt: I am sure it is a riveting conversation, and yes, I am sure you must be feeling quite special to know whatever it is, that is being kept top secret from this thread!

Beetree, it is not that, just didn't want to run the risk of boring everyone else. We were discussing the views in psychology circles regarding research on differences between men and women, the old nature vs nurture discussion. How the brain is both the same and different, how enviroment affects development of social and survival skills (referencing Romanian orphans and feral children and the critical period for environmental stimuli to cause brain growth and development). How early chronic trauma actually stunts growth of the brain in emotion recognition and labeling, emotional regulation, recognition of danger, etc. How early attachments impact later interpersonal interactions, ever wonder why people are draw to their partners? (referencing girls who experience chronic trauma in childhood tend to end up in a cycle of abusive relationships because that is what they are familiar with and because children who are chronically abused tend to believe they must somehow deserve the treatment). The difference between guilt (I did something bad) and shame (I am bad) and how shame is so much more damaging. How parenting styles can affect children (reference Authoritarian parenting, all about control, strict behavior rules, unreasoning demands, and usually severe consequences for deviating from expected norms; how this stunts childrens' development of language, reasoning skills, and problem solving abilities). How boys are introduced to team building sports and have more opportunities than girls to learn team building (although it is slowly changing). How boys used to be afforded more opportunities to develop interests than girls (girls were told they can't handle science, technology, mathematics, etc; stick with traditional female stereotypes).

Thank you Mindhunt. I truly appreciate your synopsis! Please excuse my little fit!
Carlin, you must have been quite long-winded! I get that error when the reply is just too darn long! No worries, I feel much more loved to be included, now!

Mindhunt your PM was to long and that is why it would not send.

Thanks GSDAdmin, I do get long winded, especially on a topic I am interested in.
Beetree, I didn't see it as a fit and it wasn't Carlin who was long winded, it was me, and that synopsis was the very very short winded version of what I was trying to send Carlin lololololol
