In general working line GSD is far better than the show GSD in regards to work potential

If you are going by schutzhund to determine this, I feel it is flawed as schutzhund is a sport and not IMO working. I worked k9s in SAR for years and have a different view now after being around both working lines and show lines since my family pd k9 officers in the 70's and their patrol partners to current day.  I also feel the wl has been heading to far in to sport breeding and that is why they are looseing favor with people who WORK dogs. Many more other breeds are taking the placet of the wlgsd in jobs. I myself work a showline gsd as my every day, count on him for my life service dog. K9 programs all over are transferring their needs to other breeds. Just as much as the popular showlines <my showline does not and will never be at front front of a class looking for extreme angulation>  is resembling hyenas the working line is becoming only good for sport use. Every segragated line is having its own issues and if we bicker back and forth over show line or working line it will continue and both will be dogs that are no longer gsds.

@ibrahim when did they put those remarks about angulations in the standard? who was president of the SV at that time and what were he's "top dogs" producing at that time( and those of he's 2sons after him up untill today?à

Haz: " Ill say that there are several notable working dogs with V rating. Yet they look nothing like the dogs in the Kassel vids. "
Do you think that there is a different rating system for working lines? Or are you talking about different colors ? Cry Smile
You bought a German Shepherd puppy this year after selling a Dutchie - your first German ?

No I am talking about structure, I am well aware the rating system is the same.  My issue is with the individual interpretation of what the standard is.
I feel honored, doing some homework :), Ill humor you since you made the effort.  The dutchy was purchased, ob trained and sold as a pet.  Bought the GSD with a specific purpose in mind not my first...try again.  Have worked a few shepherds in "real" life and some other breeds.  Have also owned other shepherds previously.

Ah, forget it, this discussion is as old as this board....
Have a nice day, and enjoy your dog! Hopefully he or she will be everything you are dreaming about ( honestly!)

She will or she wont..but you can bet your life I won represent her as anything other then what she is..Shades Smile.
