I am another fan of the Natural Balance chubbs. You can dice it up as small as you want & it won't crumble (very much, anyway). I dice it into pieces the size of a pea for tracking. I also like it for tracking because it doesn't seem to attract the ants the way hot dogs do.

I had a raw meatball recipe, but lost it when my old computer died. It worked out really good for my dogs. I know it had obviously raw meat, oat meal oats, molassess, garlic salt, egg. Sorry if the spelling is off, but I' not sure if that's everything, and all you do is mix it all up and use it. You can freeze it to.

Kelly, I think you're talking about satin balls? There are recipes for them on many interent sites.

Something that works well for training and tracking is FROZEN BilJak. It's fairly cheep as treats go and it is soft so that you can make the treat any size you need. It has raw meat in it so it has to be refrigerated and or frozen. But when you learn about how much you will use in a given circumstance you can have it already bagged up and waiting. The only bad thing is is that it is hard to find. Some Petsmarts that are close to major airport have it. But they will not ship over an hour away from a major airport because of the high cost of keeping it frozen. Works great though! It's about $4.30 for a 4lb bag. Debby

Blitzen, Sounds about right. Can you email me some of those sites, because I'm not sure if that was everything. I called it raw meatballs, cuz that's what I rolled it into. That is the only thing some of my dogs track with. My other doesn't really care so for him I use Natural Balance I think that's the name, it comes in a roll like sausage.

I just google "satin balls" and all sorts of links come up.

You have many sugestions here. My personal choice is cooked chicken breasts, diced up into little cubes. I have never had a dog not relish paultry. Finicky eaters, doesn't matter. I just put them in a little sandwitch bag and off we go. I've always said that if they ( any dogs) refuse paultry then I know they are really sick.

I am with the boiled chicken breasts - I boil them - chop in cubes like olskoolgsds - and what is great about chicken - you can load the pieces in your mouth and tuck in your cheek and spit right into the mouth of your dog (I am a spitter too)- on quick come fronts - heers - fusses -(spelling may not be right).......I have always used chicken for training the hotdogs in my mouth made me kind of sick. You can boil and cut them up - put in baggies in freezer.

Blitzen, I thought you had a certain site, that's what I'll do. Thanks
