Two Moons bear stories are fun aren't they?
No, do not let us scare you from going into back  country. You will never forget it.

Primal pet food has a very nice freeze dried selection..  it will be similar to the foods you are preparing to eat.
Rehydrate, mix, feed...

I don't know how much time you have till your trip, but you can order online, if its not in your town.

Ziwi is an excellent supplemental food..   one of the best out there, not at all crap.
It is expensive because its made and imported from New Zealand, and doesn't contain any north american mystery "ingredients"...

I'd use a bit of both, and would still freeze hard a pound or two of good raw to use up on day ONE before you get to camp..

Yes, you will have to be thinking about all trash/odors etc that may be generated from any/all cooking/packages etc..

Moose..  be wary of moose..  :)

The dog daypack I have says "dog gear".. not helpful.. I don't remember where I got it.  The most useful advice I have for selecting a pack is that the packs are removeable..  so you don't have to  "unharness" the dog at each stop... just unclip a pack bag.

Of course you will also want to carry a quality pepper spray along with you that's been designed for bear, no substitute for a weapon but better than nothing.
