What terrible owners and what a lovely dog! It makes me so frustrated when people don't take care of their pets! I don't think they understand that they are responsible for another life! It means nothing to them. Shameful.

I keep preaching to people, YOU HAVE TO PROTECT YOUR PROTECTION DOG; just as you would one of your children. You would be amazed how many people look at me in amazement; bewildered, and really not understanding what I am talking about. PROTECT YOUR DOG PEOPLE... They can get themselves in a whole lot of trouble all by themselves. PROTECT THEM AS YOU WOULD YOURSELF (FROM THE SHI- - - PUBLIC). That is my prayer for the day.
'PROTECT YOUR DOG'.
'PROTECT YOUR DOG'.

Well, I called Animal Control and the AC officer was professional, thorough, and nice, he took all the information and the pictures, he stated quite simply that between the two of them and with all the cruelty and serious neglect cases, it was unlikely they would do much after the fact, they are just too busy and understaffed. I said that the dog appeared taken care of (although not quite to my standards) and it was probably a matter of educating the owners, not that they were being deliberately cruel, just clueless. He said if they get the time, they would stop by the owners and try to educate them since I gave them the plate to run and the pictures. I guess that is the best I can hope for at this time, and he is correct on the magnitude of their caseload.
Nansgsd, I agree, my Oma said that an owner must work at deserving what their dog so freely gives without question or hesitation, it is never a one time deal but a constant effort.
