"Why are you so worried about what other people do? Is it a crime for them to not listen to what Mr. dunc would do???"?"

Well I not impressed. But there are several others that act just like that.

There are a lot of opinions out there, and lots of different dogs, one mans trash is another's treasure.

I was being sarcastic.   I realize that sarcasm is the lowest form of humor, but every now and then it seems to work.  It was in regards to some of the recent comments regarding dogs and screaming on other threads.  Some have bred dogs that scream but deny it or blame it on training or the owners.  I actually like Fero, Troll and Yoschy.  I also love the Maineiche lines and they have produced some screamers, I owned one (a Yoschy granddaughter) and she was great but good god.  I titled her to a SchH 3 from a pup and she vocalized her unbridled enthusiasm in every aspect of her work; especially in OB.

A good working dog is a good working dog.  However, having been there and done that I prefer dogs that don't vocalize excessively and leak drive.  For sport it is not a big deal, for my work it can be a very big issue.  Given the choice, I'll take the quieter, more contained dog that internalizes it's drives.

Don't get all wrapped around the axle because of my post, if you knew me you'd know I was only half serious.  Where is Chaz when I need him?

I like Slam's posts, he is pretty much 'right on' all the time, and makes a lot of sense, not only that, he has a knack for putting  his knowledge into words.

Many cities and municipalities ban Pit Bulls and other "dangerous breeds".  If you want to add GSD to the list keep it up.  Once they have a dangerous dog list it is easy to add another breed to the list.  Don't any of you read the news or listen to the dog attack stories now??  Yes, I get it that you think a GSD on a hoodie is cool along with some idiotic phrase about biting.  Less than 10% of the US population ever heard of schutzhund or IPO and of those who do most only know about the sleeve bites and think these dogs are police dogs.  Schutzhund dogs are not police dogs and the biting portion of the schutzhund trial accounts for less than 20% of the actual total score when you consider that much of the protection routine is obedience and not actual biting (blinds, bark and hold, outs, and transports).  IPO and schutzhund are nearly all obedience based yet a few in the sport want to concentrate public interest and awareness on the small part of the sport that when misunderstood will get dogs banned from living with their owners, increase their homeowners insurance, and lead to the public lumping the GSD in with the Pit Bull (which has already been severely restricted through their owners acting like idiots).  Rental property contracts already very often restrict or prohibit ownership of Pit Bulls and Rottweilers and I ask how did the Rottie get on the list .. they look a little like Pit Bulls??  The emphasis on the biting portion of IPO is not the reality of the sport/game and at a time when IPO is stagnant or declining it serves to further alienate the public and exclude possible new positive public interest.
