The harness markings and the appearance of the dog overall in the park bench photo gives the impression that this is a sable.

Klytie, very similar colored Shepherd... @ 4 years she was much darker, seen here at 12 she's faded in the black areas. Was colored like a sable, with guard hairs being multi colored with dark ends and lighter base. Don't know her breeding as she was a rescue, but was wonderful GSD. With her is our little mutt rescue, Bree. Sadly we lost Klytie this year. Champion Lakeside's Reno was a faded bl/tan, who also produced fading in both sables and Saddle back bl/tn.

Many people have mistaken faded black for sable. There is no doubt for me that this dog is genetically a black and red saddle back dog who has the recessive black fading gene that washes out the black saddle. If it wasn't for the dog still having a hint of black hairs in the saddle region then I would have said it was an ay fawn GSD (tan/red body color, no saddle or black hairs in the body, usually has a black mask on the muzzle though.)
The dog is definitely not a liver or blue or dilute liver. It's nose is black, so no masking or dilute color there.
