Okay, Slamdunc, yes many deaths are linked to all kinds of intoxifying substances. More fine officers have been murdered in the line of duty from perps high on Alcohol than pot. And, alcohol has been a huge cause of death and vehicular homicide for many years and has only been slowed down by very strict law enforcement of DUI laws. Overall Pot is the least harmful but it should be treated the same way as alcohol by LE and the appropriate laws with strict law enforcement for intoxication and driving. We all know of numerous needless deaths from high speed crashes of young drivers while under the influence of alcohol bu overall this nrate seems to be decreasing due to effective law enforcement in many major cities.
I was once told by a criminologist that 70-80% of all violent crimes were enacted under the influence of alcohol or drugs, so it is obvious that such is a serious problem.
My main objection is that the USG and American Intel should NOT be involved in the illegal drug trafficking business at all (they bring in 95% of the illegal drugs). Too bad you are so uninformed about this reality. I have heard it from numerous Feds and LE who know first hand, some trying to stop it and forced to retire early.
Instead of learning the truth you label me with demeaning labels. Sorry, but you are poorly informed about the real world and very isolated about who really runs things. You know nothing about Intel that's quite obvious and your mind is closed. Instead of looking at what is really going on, you close your mind and belittle and claim "conspiracy nut" as your cover. What you don't realize is that there are hundreds of stories in the back pages of mainstream media (much of it foreign) about US wall street banks being caught laundering Intel drug money and paying measley fines when they should have gone to jail. I could list numerous ones quite easily. Too bad your mind is so closed to reality. All the evidence is there if only you did some basic resaerch and interviewed retired DEA agents or drug task force individuals who are stand up guys.

Although I think it should be legalized for tax purposes and revenue for individual states, it does come with higher crime. I was just talking with my son over this the other day. We forget that along with legalizing drugs, are the rift raft that move in and bring with them prostitution and other shady crimes. There was a documentary a while back that said just this. The plants are worth thousands on the streets and the big money brings nasty people to otherwise quiet suburb neighborhoods. I'm not sure I would want a pot grower living next door to me.
I have smoked in my day but it makes me tired and useless. Im not willing to take the risk to be drug tested and fail then loose my job over it. I think the medical cards are a complete joke and if the drug isnt legal for all then they should be pulled. The drug cards where I am are sold for the dumbest reasons and most of the docs who work for writing scrips are not what I would call good at their chosen field.

I saw something today that mentioned marijuana tourists heading to Colorado...... see business is picking up already.

Well what breaks my heart is I was just there a month ago today. Why couldn't they have had the election for that before that? LOL In fact when we went to the Rocky Mtn National Park we have to drive quite a ways from our hotel and I kept looking to see if I could see a medical marijuana store--I never saw anything that looked like one. I thought I would recognize one though cause I have seen them on TV.

I always trust my nose.......LOL
How you doing tonight?

That's weird.

Yeah..........I'm OK tonight--thanks for asking. You know, fooled with the dogs, cooked today so I don't have to tomorrow and did a little cleaning. Pretty laid back day..............Watched some TV but everything is getting to just be reruns. Chatted with my daughter--we talked about Veterens Day and all. She doesn't care too much about talking about the Middle East and her time over there so we keep it light........
I was watching PBS late last night and that show Independant Lens was on. It was about these ladies from different countries going to India and learning how to make circuit boards in order to get soal power. It focused on a lady from Jordan. It was pretty interesting. I like that show anyway. I think it came on at 2 am. Kudos to her for wanting to work and do something different with her life..........

A good show, I watch PBS a lot,
The front just hit here rain now cold in the morning.
Someone must be tinkering with the site, things look off a bit.
I was holding out for a decent conversation tonight but it's been slow.
Might go pick out a DVD and chill out on the couch for a while.
Dunno.

"I agree with you violence and drugs go hand in hand..."
That is blaming the substance for the effects of prohibition.
"No one should be driving impaired by any substance legal or not, including prescription medicines."
